And Pruitt will likely last longer than Orgeron

Doubt it. Orgeron is at a much better program. He's proven that any coach can have a winning season at LSU. While Tennessee remains a complete dumpster fire that somebody then tried to extinguish with a truckload of shite.

It's just too bad Tennessee can't do anything with that talent.

Hate to say it, but I think if Jacoby Stevens has any intentions on leaving after the way O screwed him this season, this will only solidify it. AT was a massive reason Jacoby signed here

It doesnt make sense to me that he would leave LSU for less money to go to UT because he wanted to be back where he is from. Sounds to me like he has seen behind closed doors, the shite show that is an Ed Orgeron program and he is getting out before his resume is stained.

But who knows?

Thomas has been at LSU since 2014

In that time LSU has had a coach fired and massive roster mismanagement. What exactly are we losing here?

I get that the guy is respected in the industry but folks are taking this news a bit too hard. LSU will be just fine.

It's obvious that whatever Thomas brought to the table wasn't translating to elite success on the field. Hell, you could make the argument that it's time for someone else to get a shot.

Talent has not been LSU's problem. AT may be one of the main reasons we won the games we won with the shite coaches we had running the program.

It’s ridiculous to credit him with every recruiting success and I’d say the talent has definitely dipped over the past few years.

Yep...also, NO on here knows his family situation..he may have elderly or sick parents and wants to be closer to them. Sometimes it about more than money..

You’re just making stuff up. Why don’t you read some of the articles written about Thomas that show how highly he views Orgeron and also Frank Wilson. He already turned down an NFL job once before due to his relationship with Wilson. He chose LSU over USC also. This time he chose Tennessee. And it does make sense that he would go home for less money if he wants to do that. He isn’t you and clearly doesn’t think like you. His goal is to have a position in the NFL. He can spend his time working at Tennessee and then move on to the NFL from there. I’m not sure why that is so hard for some of you to understand. He’s not connected to Baton Rouge. There was an article on the coaching changes board about the JMU coach turning down FBS offers and accepting a 10 year contract extension because he considers that his home. Life isn’t all about money for some people.

How the hell did O do that exactly?

He wasn't good enough to get playing time at safety so he was moved to WR. He wasn't good enough to get snaps there so he was moved to hback. He wasn't good enough to see the field there so he was moved back to safety and he sat on the bench.

Yeah O screwed him O gave him every possible opportunity to get on the field

He was just given that position last year. There are only two such positions in the country. Now there is three. I’m not sure you know what he actually did as the general manager but there are some articles you can read about him if you wish to look them up. He did a lot of the things that coaches in other programs have to spend time doing themselves. His position helped free up coaches to do what should be doing . He did have a major role.

I know some are saying he just wanted to go back home, but he came back to LSU with Miles being retained.

It might have more to do with just, it was Tenn. Also prob the feet dragging of Alleva to give him a raise. Just saying that other factors may have made his decision easier to leave.

What? He worked at UT and USC. Yeah Ed worked at those schools as well, but he didn't hire the guy.

What makes you think Pruitt won't last long at Tennessee? He has as good of a shot of succeeding as pretty much any other hire.
