I wonder if they'da looked so awesome if those teams had the most important player on their roster available to play? Remember, it's not always how you play, it's who's missing from who you play. C'mon man, really?

Absolutely. More sustained drives = fewer offensive chances for Bama, why the frick does that seem unreasonable? I'm not saying those teams win, but those teams rely on their QBs like LSU does on their RBs. Supposed Blue, Ford, Ware, Hilliard, and Hill got in a wreck this week and were unavailable... do you think it'd affect the quality of the game? Do you think the fans would be as loud if Lsu gets behind say 10 points knowing we are handicapped? I say it absolutely had an effect on these games, which everyone else is pointing to and screaming that this is part of why Bama is so great. All I'm saying is they had some help along the way. How would Lsu have faired at Florida if Driskell wasn't there? Or in the A&M game in Johnny Buttmunch was hurt? How dominant would Lsu have looked in what amounts to 1/4th of the schedule being easier?

I see what your saying. What I'm going to suggest to you is, it wouldn't have mattered.

About Auburn.... this Lsu had a major problem with crowd noise both at Auburn and at Florida. I honestly wasn't surprised the AU game was that close. What I have been surprised at is how poorly they've done since that time. Lsu did much better at A&M I thought, with their crowd noise.

I picked this LSU team to be 10-2, with a loss to FL, and either USC or A&M. If we end up 10-2 at this point, let's just say there is no good scenerio for that to happen and me be okay with it, lol.

They'll be even lower when we beat them as well.

10-2 was my preseason guess as well, so overall, I will be very pleased with the season, all things considered honestly. 10-2 and a good bowl (Cotton?) is all I expect. Everything else is just...gravy. The biggest issue for me (I've been around a while) was LSU gaining respect. In the last several years, they have done just that.

You do realize that Bama beat Arkansas 52-0, right?

Drew frickin' Brees could have been the QB for Arky ... and Bama still wins.

Injuries are part of the game ... your argument is beyond weak.

No, I can't read. I'm not saying they would have won (which I must've said 100 times at this point), I'm saying it wouldn't have been 52-0. I'm saying their defensive stats like passing yards allowed per game wouldn't be ranked as highly. And I beg to differ, I think with Drew Brees they would have had a damn good chance to win.

It comes down to perception, which since they haven't played any decent teams yet, is all people have. And when a quarter our your schedule has their QB out for the game, it makes a difference. .....your mom is weak.

Factor in a two week bye to prepare and Tiger Stadium 12th man as well. Buck Fama.

I accept your explanation, and there is no need to take personal cheap shots.

Agree to disagree, though.

1st SEC home game of the year for Auburn.

LSU always seems to play Auburn early when we are breaking in a new starting QB, and late, when Auburn is breaking in a new starting QB.

The fumble on the goalline and Mett's fumble on our own 23 set the tone for a tough battle. It kept the team and crowd in the game.

AU has pretty much given up now and will finish 0-8 in the SEC.

I love how fans always excuse LSU's poor performances. Auburn is and was a horrible team when LSU played them. LSU almost beat itself, and that's the worry. Sure Bama isn't unbeatable, but for LSU to have a realistic chance they must execute in a way that hasn't been seen thus far. Everyone knows LSU has the potential, but have struggled when honestly they shouldn't have. Again, I agree Bama can be beat, but geez can we stop with this crap and their 'weak' schedule. They've done everything right. Yes their schedule isn't the toughest, but they've dominated everyone in their path. If LSU would've executed and not struggled as much, then Bama wouldn't be a double digit favorite. It's that simple.

LSU at home and not the favorites? I think we tried to beat Alabama with a ground game already this year. How'd that work out for us?

You do realize we have FIVE players that were starters for the last two matchups, right?

That's SEVENTEEN new starters. This is a whole different team(s).

Just wow.

I've tried to say this exact same thing, but somehow, I think you said it best.

Doesn't matter who they have played. They present problems to us that we need to address.
