They're not more horrible than any other student body. In fact, I'd say it's amazing some people bitch about just ONE cheer here.
As much as I am in favor of letting the students do what they want since, at the end of the day, it is their tuition more so than our taxes that let LSU even exist, that argument does not hold water. I have never been a big fan of the "everyone else does it" argument. It does not make it right or wrong in any particular case.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong. I'm saying it's not uncommon.

What makes it annoying is it depends on non students, family and kids etc. For it's shock value, and the anonymity of a large crowd to get away with it. Kinda dumb. But the adults are not gonna put up with it and in a contest between college kids and adults, over something this silly, the kids will always lose.

Ultimately, you can't stop it. when you say lose, if they lose the song, fine. Next song up for the vulgar treatment, get in line please.
I don't think you understand, it's not going to matter what campus it is or what school it is, there are cheers that are distasteful and vulgar, sometimes started by the students, and you WON'T be able to stop that unless you tell the students to gtfo.
You start doing that, you start messing with some serious issues that I don't think any college or university wants to deal with.

You don't understand. If you ban the song it takes the kiddies almost a year to ruin it when they do, you ban that song.
It is something they do for fun. they are not going tom put a lot of effort into it.
Doesn't take an iron fist. And if you think 90 per cent of the crowd has to put up with whatever the student body insists on, you are wrong.

Maybe they should be taught one of life's lessons. Unlike in reality TV, in the real world you are NOT rewarded for bad behavior- you pay a price. If they insist on tarnishing LSU's image, reduce the amount of student seating. Make the little jerks pay full price. Or, break them up into small pockets around the stadium.
I agree the chant is stupid and overly vulgar. You all forget though that the whole point of college athletics and the school is it is FOR THE STUDENTS.

The whole point of it is for the students. Yes. Students lern lessons. They will lern this lesson.

Nevermind the fact that there are adults and college students all binge drinking, taking shots right and left, yelling profanity at visiting fans, throwing trash around, stumbling around in the street in the middle of traffic, and at the end of the day, dad gets behind the wheel to drive home (way over the limit).
My point? If you as a parent can't tell your kids that they are going to see and hear a lot of bad things, don't bring your children to the LSU game. My parents really drove this home from the age of five on up. I specifically remember "the speech" my father would give me for about five minutes on the way to the game, every time. This is all that needs to be done. Parents need to be parents in this situation.
Of course, not that I agree with the profanity being chanted. But the fact remains, a lot of times you have no control of what another person is saying or doing in front of your child, other than to teach your child to look at that as an example of how not to be in life.

I don't think any one of these posters (except the students) really agrees that the use of the vulgarity in songs is appropriate. However, it is a matter of opinion and everyone's got one.
It's obvious what age group each poster is in and I'll just leave it at that. It speaks for itself.

This can be put in any song, and believe me, if 'NECK' is banned, you'll hear something similar in another song. You'd have to ban drunk students going to games and enjoying themselves.

I hate cbs and the 2:30 game, I wasn't listening specifically for that as I didn't know they even did that. It's not audible on the broadcast if your not listening for it. You can barely hear the band.
The old farts should stay home if their fossilized ears are not up for a little Sat evening fun.

...I don't think you should ban any songs in Tiger Stadium.
None of us have a right to sit in Tiger Stadium. It is a privilege.
If you can't act like an adult, get rid of the student section or require each student to sit next to their mommy.
It is absolutely disgusting. I know that our students at LSU are better than that.
Use all that intelligence and come up with something better than that filth.

I am going to yell it louder next time and dedicate it to you. This is football not ballet. If you dont like it simply dont come. Better yet come walk over to the student section and tell us to stop.

Eat em up, Eat em up, raw raw raw doesnt cut it anymore, Chants should be a little vile and intimidating to the opponents. Must be loud and clear enough to be understood by opponents players. So until another cheer comes along that is equally vile and intimidating im one 50 year old that thinks the cheer is kinda cool. I also thought that tiger stadium was sort of an adult atmosphere not really appropriate for young children. At least the children dont have to worry about bottles flying as in days of old. Let the students have fun they need an outlet from all their studies.

Quite obviously you're still missing the point. What we're all saying is that the vulgarity will continue REGARDLESS OF WHAT SONG IS BEING PLAYED. Hell, even if there is no music, vulgar chants will still continue. The more they try to censor us, the louder it will get. The only way the "other 90%" won't have to deal with it is if the students are banned from the game. AND THAT WILL NEVER frickING HAPPEN.
ETA: And just so you know, I think the chant is stupid and don't participate. But I have enough common sense to realize that no one is going to stop it short of banning students.

The song, sure. But vulgarity not so much. Use your brain.

You must be right on top of the student section then. I'm on the east side about the 20 yard line and I can't hear what they're saying.
