I saw this and was wondering why he only pitched an inning and got worried but that is all I have seen

thanks for BPB and color commentary. Great teamwork.
Glad to be able to do it. I got Bingham and Nippolt crossed up for a minute. Glad to have ell checking me and helping out.
On the Kucherak error there was a shift on and the ball was hit almost to SS. He did dive to attempt the catch because of this but ball hit his glove. Scuba ruled it an error after some thought so that's how I called it too. Honestly could have gone either way IMO

Baseball Spring Scrimmage 2/2/24 by Lester Earl
I was just catching up, read the whole thread. Who said Jump was hurt
Just got home and looked over the whole thread. A couple guys are speculating about it because he only threw one inning.
After that 1st inning Jump walked down to the bullpen with his backpack. I didn't see it but I think someone sitting nearby said they saw him go into the indoor facility from there.

So does that mean he isn’t injured?

Hell if I know.I never saw any indication from the mound that he was in pain or something wasn't right. If that tweet is accurate maybe it is just something minor like a pulled muscle in his back.
His previous injury at UCLA was an elbow for which he is coming back off of TJ if I'm not mistaken. I could have easily missed something because bpb keeps my eyes on my phone almost more than on the players.
Maybe some of the other observers who were there can chime in if they saw anything unusual.

Jump had TJ surgery the summer of 2022. I didn’t think anything of him only pitching 1 inning.

Me either but I think he threw a couple of innings on Friday of last week.
Checked Scuba's stats from that scrimmage and he showed Gage with 1.2IP.
Just seems kinda strange since they extended most starting pitchers an extra inning or so from their innings pitched in last weeks scrimmages. Slowly ramping them up except Jump who exited earlier.

I saw that too. But I think it may be a typo.
He doesn't have Herring listed on his stats

Is Jump hurt? Frey just asked Loer what happened to Gage and he said something like “bad” or “back”

I think Jump pitched 1, Herring pitched 2 and Loer pitched 3 if I remember correctly

Yeah somebody posted that. I remembered him throwing 2 innings last week on Friday. Scuba's stats showed 1.2 IP. So he would be the only starter this week who didn't get extended a little bit more than last week

Yes to all of this. Herring relieved Jump after 1 inning

Scuba must've combined Jump and Herring's stats
Posted on 2/2/24 at 8:31 pm to LSURussian
I just kept up with who was pitching overall, not necessarily for which team.
To that end, I thought Herring pitched well after his first inning.

I’m fairly confident Herring pitched 3 but I certainly could be wrong.
