November ‘79 is when the U.S, embassy was overrun & hostages were taken.

Oh, yeah. I studied about that in History class.

It didn't drop like that during covid.
Actually, it did.

Just prior to the declaration of the COVID emergency the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the U.S. was $2.57/gallon.

Once the emergency was declared on March 13, 2020 gas prices started falling steadily until they reached a bottom of $1.77/gallon in April.

when you hear about barrels prices dropping on the international market, it is usually 2-3 weeks before you see it dropping at the pumps.

Gas prices in the U.S. are based on WTI (West Texas Intermediate) crude prices not "international" prices, aka, Brent crude.

And yes, gas prices start reducing almost immediately following a drop in WTI. If they didn't then competitors who don't start reducing their price wiil experience an immediate reduction in their sales.

Gas prices are highly elastic.

You will never see gas drop $0.50 overnight,
We would if crude dropped $15/barrel on a weekend night.

Gas prices are based on replacement cost.

Why? That was a good zinger.
I personally don't enjoy nor respect "good zingers" being aimed at U.S. veterans about their wounds which they sustained in combat.

The catch? The baseball game starts at 6, the basketball game starts at 5pm…good call lsu.

What's the problem?

So, go to the basketball game before tip-off, say around 4:45, get in free by showing your baseball ticket, enjoy the Senior appreciation ceremony, watch the basketball game for a while, leave and go to the baseball game around 6:00.

I don't understand why you're critical of the get-in-free basketball promotion when it's obvious the idea is to have better attendance for the Senior Night ceremony before the basketball game starts.
