It's going to come down to those 537 voters in Florida.

The original post has been UPDATED with my new thoughts. Not much has changed but Arky's computer score is better than I thought

Does a loss by LSU actually hurt Bama? OSU would take over some of the computer polls creating a larger computer wedge. Assume LSU/ARK/Bama voters drop the other team they don't want in the final behind OSU so it becomes a very tight vote for the top 4 teams. Computer polls are weighted higher so OSU and LSU go on to the MNC game.

In a lot of ways, yes. At least from the computer standpoint.

From a voter standpoint, it may give them more of a reason to vote a rematch since both teams have one loss.

Tigers v Cowboys BCSCG.
OK. State will win out, LSU will win out. OK State computer will put them ahead of the Gumps.

While mathematically unlikely... In a case where LSU loses to Arkansas...

What would happen if they were tied in the BCS standings? I know... I know... Not going to happen, but what would the SEC do?

SEC rule is if the teams are within 5 positions in the BCS, the team with the head to head win goes.

ie. 3 way tie in SEC WEST. (LSU loses to AR, AR loses to Al, Al loses to LSU) &
BCS has a ranking of AL, AR, LSU in that order, AL goes because of win V. AR.

It will help, but they would also need a handful of voters in both the Harris and Coaches to move OSU ahead of Alabama to #2.

Totally agree, but I think the voters will want to see a different game. While the LSU/AL fans liked the Tuscaloosa game, the rest of the country will not want to watch it again.

OK Matt!!! Enjoy your posts!!! Assuming we win Friday, and Oklahoma State loses to Oklahoma. Who do you think we would play in the BCS National Championship game? I apologize if you have already answered this question.

People laughed at me when I said everything could happen and it was still possible. Happiest I have ever been to rub it in someone's face

Is anyone not thinking that IF Arkansas beat LSU that Arkansas would be #1 and LSU #2? Then we'd get that rematch. LSU would then be in Bama's situation of just sitting and waiting while Arkansas plays Georgia. I think LSU is the measuring stick here...LSU beat Bama so they shouldn't jump LSU no matter what.

you know i was thinking the same thing...

and another thing...shouldnt our strength of schedule top anyone elses?..i mean damn, how many ranked team do we have to beat?...im still wondering how Okie St's computer ranking was higher then ours a week ago?

What if Bama loses in the Iron Bowl??? I agree the WVU vs Pitt game was exciting! I'll never forget after LSU won listening to Hawthorne in my car saying "that LSU will more than likely play in the Sugar Bowl. I then went and watched the WVU vs Pitt game without fully realizing the extent. About 1 hr after the game, I was wondering if LSU had a shot at playing in the Championship. I then got on Tigerdroppings and waited until 3:30 in the morning for your post to get verification!!!

The pecking order in my opinion if LSU wins out is:

1. Bama or Ok State
2. Ok State or Bama
3. Va Tech
4. Stanford
5. Houston?

So Va Tech if Bama and Ok State both lose.
