Yeah, you can’t leave Sanders on the shelf and get eliminated without using him.
Maybe throw our slowest pitchers against OSU. Has worked against us in the past.
I would take my chances by leaving Sanders on the shelf. if i cant beat Northwestern with Beck, Bain, Fontenot then we need to pack it up now and head home and dont even play the game.

Do you realize Beck has beat NSU earlier this year? Wasting Sanders for this game is stupid

This really isn’t that difficult.
Sure, nothing is ever difficult when you resort to making up your own percentages of win probabilities out of thin air.
Well here is one not made up for you. Beck started against UF in the SEC tournament and blanked them for 4 innings. You know, the UF that is the overall #1 team in the tournament, compared to OSU who is #3. Could he not conceivably do the same against OSU?
And Sanders, in the games he has looked good as of recent have all been out of the pen. There is a HUGE difference in starting and relieving (see Todd Perterson or even Hess in reverse if you want).

It’s the same logic that every 2 and 3 seed in a regional uses in an attempt to win the first 2 games and be in the driver seat.
And I don’t disagree. Funny thing is, we are past the first 2 games, genius, and LSU is now in the LOSERS BRACKET; so please try to keep up.
And if you like logic, then please refer to my comments at the beginning of this post, where I at least present some not based on made up win percentages made to suit my narrative.

I told you to come up with your own percentages. That doesn’t take away from the point I was making, which is if saving Sanders for OSU gives you a better probability of winning BOTH games then it’s the right call. I, for one, think Sanders gives you a better chance of beating OSU.

He could, but we both know that UF was a shell of its former self against MSU and in the SEC tournament.

Agreed here. We don’t know how he’s going to react to that.
You seem to be arguing two completely separate things. First you were saying we need to throw whoever gives us the best chance to beat NWST. Then you seem to be arguing that Beck is our best chance to beat OSU.

And do you not realize that all of the Cam Sanders hype is based on what he did in the SEC tournament, as a RELIEVER? And do you also realize that Beck, who you all think would be a horrible choice to start against OSU is the same Beck who just started against UF (you know, the #1 team in the country) and went 4 scoreless innings against them?
And I’m not even arguing that Beck is the best option to go against OSU. I’m arguing that there will be NO OSU game if you don’t win the first one today. And no matter how much you and your band of idiots want to cover your heads and say, “we are LSU, we are LSU...,” NSU is capable of beating LSU.

He pitched 3 innings in the NWSt game and he threw 54 pitches in those 3 innings, he gave up 2 hits, one walk and he hit a batter.
I was at that game. His start was a nightmare with him living on the edge the entire 3 innings.
Caleb Gilbert pitched 2 scoreless innings in that game. Maybe you think that proves Gilbert should start today??
We used 8 pitchers in that game. But you believe it was Beck who beat NSU?
WTF is wrong with you?

And there’s no regional championship unless you win BOTH games today. See how that works? You have to win two games today. It really doesn’t matter if you lose this afternoon or tonight.

Nobody thinks this. You just pulled that out your arse.

see how long Northwestern's 3rd pitcher lasts against us.....we should be good for at least 10 runs today......why waste better arms?

Um, no thanks. I choose to deal in reality and not made up numbers to fit my narrative.

Oh great, this argument again. It’s the ole “dammed if we do, dammed if we don’t” routine.
And to respond directly to your statement, no, WE both don’t know. I’m pretty positive that Florida didn’t just walk into that game saying, “you know what guys, let’s just take a vacation today and let LSU have this one.”
Oh, and btw, it’s LSU, not MSU. MSU would be the team we knocked out of the SEC tournament on the first day. Again, KEEP UP please.

What I’m arguing is the hypocrisy of your statements. You contend that Sanders gives LSU a better chance of beating OSU; so they should hold him till we play them (because “as we both know,” it’s a given that LSU will beat NSU - please sense the sarcasm). I’m just pointing out how that argument could easily be not as true and accurate as you think it is.
Do I think Sanders is the better pitcher right now? Sure, if he pitches like he did a week ago, which is why I think he should go against NSU in order to ensure there is a game against OSU. But there is no harm in pointing out that based upon last week’s pitching performance (which is where all the Sanders hype comes from) that an argument can also be made for just exactly why Beck should be the one held for OSU (assuming you get to that game).

I rest my case. And yes, there have been similar naive comments made in this and other threads.

UF took a vacation the last 2 weeks.

This tells me all I need to know about your reading comprehension skills. Read my post again and check UFs schedule. I shouldn’t have to walk you through these things.

So you think that Sanders is the better pitcher at the moment and that’s why he should throw against NWST, but acknowledge that an argument could be made that Beck is better. Yet, you said that throwing Sanders in game 1 is the ONLY move. Surely you see how contradictory this is.

And you want Beck against OSU. I rest my case.

It is a dumb move. Beck has already proven he can beat NSU. Then you save Sanders against OSU. LSU should not have to waste their best pitcher available to beat a team from the Southland conference that barely got in the tournament.
The "Rainbow Shoe Hobbits" should be able to beat another State of Luziana team in a baseball Regional throwing the team water boy.
If they can't, then it's time for a purge. No coaches make it off the bus coming back from the airport still employed.
That's LSU baseball. The standards are high. If you can't maintain them, then go elsewhere. Complacency has set in from what I see. (And many other realistic adult "Non-Pumps") Maybe time to start fresh.
Pump Lump Cheerleader MA's say "Leave my Idolized-Worshipped LSU baseball coaches alone."

You even said in another post that I said Hess "was saved" for OSU which I never said. You lie constantly.
Dumb. Liar. Idiot.
