I think Guidry had a good post season run, but the rest of his career was average. He was one of the many role players that have stepped up in the post season for us during our runs.
I think the only true closer we have had was a good on - Rick Greene. But guys like McDonald, Leskanic, Thompson, Coogan, Bradfor, Coleman, etc were guys that could pitch mutiple times in the weekend/tourney and provde that "closer" quality in a game or two.

Chris Demouy, Eric Berthelot, Adrian Antonini
None of those guys should be mentioned in the "best" category, IMO.

Will Hunt deserves props. He wasn't a closer by trade...but name me another reliever that consistently could leave the mound in the 8th and go play 1b for the remainder...even dh. Will Harris never was consistent in that role.

Barry Manuel. I missed Rick Greene when he was here, but Barry was money in the closer role.

Demouy and Determann were more of a long relievers/setup men than closers, so I'd exclude them from the "closer" category.
IMO, overall relievers....
1. Greene
2. Coleman (reliever for 2.5 years)
3. Manuel
4. Demouy
5. Ott (yes, he's that good already)
6. Determann
7. Guidry

Obviously none of you young pups ever saw (or even heard of ) Paul Stefan. The guy pitched practically everyday for the '75 SEC Championship team. If he came in, game over!
It's really too bad this team doesn't get the credit it deserves. It was one pitcher short of winning LSU's first NC. Position by position, this team was as good as any Skip ever put on the field.

Scott Fitterer...94-95 season. transfer from UCLA. believe he was drafted after only 1 yr. wasnt the best record-wise, but had impressive heat.
