Alright glory of UNC, how many football titles you got? How many ACC (weak)titles, lately? Hint: 5- last one 1980. I can't remember I was 4.

If you're talking glorious 3 pointers, I have no problem with that.

Nobody is arguing that UNC is weaker all time than LSU, I'd be an idiot to make a claim like that. All I'm saying is that UNC has a better defense that is by no stretch of the imagination overrated.

The key to beating UNC is to AVOID giving up BIG defensive plays.

(sacks, turnovers, etc...)

They have struggled at times against teams that don't frick up. This isn't a defense that will force a lot of 3 and outs without a big play.

So if you protect the QB, don't turn the ball over, and avoid getting tackled behind the LOS, the UNC defense will fold like a wet paper bag.

However, the defense gets better with every big play. They feed off of it. If LSU screws up a lot, it could snowball.

I know people will say, well duh. But seriously, all defenses are different. Florida in 2009 could stonewall you for three plays by stopping your runs for 1 yard, 1 yard, and then a quick tackle on a pass play to get a 3 and out.

UNC doesn't do that. They give up 4 yard chunks and big pass plays when they aren't nailing you in the backfield or intercepting passes. They need the big play to get people off the field.

I haven't gotten my game film from UNC delivered yet. After I get it, I will study it and get back to you.

Precision execution between the QB and receivers will be the key. No need to have 5 or 6 seconds to throw the ball. The Tigers have future NFL wideouts and tight ends. 3 step drops and hit one of them in space and let the fun begin. This would open up the running lanes and move the safeties back. Once that ground game becomes effective, play action and over the top to some guys who are really difficult to cover(Toliver, Randle, Peterson) are jail-break screens to RS or RM. Throw early to set up the run. My 2 cents.

This has no point in this thread.

Personally I think those who mentioned STs/field position are spot on.

Another thing, I think their fron 7 is slightly overrated with their secondary somewhat underrated. I don't know where people get this spread em out, 4 WR, no huddle from but that's the last thing I'd do. That frees up guys like Quinn to end Jefferson's season real quick.

I think they're somewhat like LSU's front 7 (not saying LSU's is as good, just similar styles) in that they're extremely fast and athletic. I think we needa run right at them personally.

Now I haven't seen many UNC games so I could be off but this is what I took from the games I watched.

UNC has the better defense, case closed on that one.

I wouldn't say "case closed."

UNC played four teams last year that had an offense ranked in the Top 50. Those games were as follows:

#26 Georgia Tech - 406 total yards
#28 Florida State - 438 total yards
#45 Miami - 435 total yards
#50 Virginia Tech - 256 total yards

So against the Top 50, UNC gave up 383.8 yards per game.

LSU played six teams with offenses ranked in the Top 50. Those games were as follows:

#6 Florida - 327 yards
#16 Auburn - 193 yards
#20 Arkansas - 375 yards
#37 Penn State - 340 yards
#42 Alabama - 452 yards
#44 Ole Miss - 426 yards

So against the Top 50 offenses, LSU gave up 352.2 yards per game.

LSU leads you in scoring D against somewhat better competition. You'd better bring a much better team because we sure are.
