Joe McKnight to USC was crazy.
Crazy to believe that Joe McKnight was killed @ 28 years old.

. Melting for no reason. Dude didn’t amount to anything
Well, this was during a time when the RB was even more valuable to a team than he is now. And McKnight was thought to be a "generational" talent. At the time, it was a very valid melt.

Ole miss and Tennessee games where Les completely fricked the clock.
There is a funny example of Les screwing up clock management that has largely been forgotten, because it ended up not impacting the game.
I think it was Les’ first actual home game, against Tennessee. We were wearing them out in the first half, Tennessee (I think) got a turnover with about 30 seconds left at about their own 40. They threw a pass to try to get in FG range and we picked it off and returned it into their territory. We had one time out left, and when the defensive back was being tackled Les was running down the sideline trying to call our last timeout on a play on which the clock stopped anyway. One of the assistants had to grab him and pull him behind the players so the ref could not see him calling timeout.
My theory is that at critical Les got caught up in the competition and stopped being a coach.
