I'm sure those people would have stayed if the game was not a blowout. Just because you feel that everyone should stay the whole game doesn't mean it's going to happen.

my point was, if you're going to say that you're withholding your passion until they "show you something", then they actually "show you something", you should stay and show your appreciation. That way they'll know their efforts are appreciated.

Oh really? I guess you didn't go to 07 Florida, 07 Auburn, 08 Bama, or 09 Florida. Fans did all they could in each of those games.

I did not think the 09 Florida game was loud at all. I do not get it. I am 40 years old and still scream my arse off on second down....often by myself

It was increadibly loud. They even commented about it on tv. Were you sitting in the upper decks?

It just wouldn't be a true fan bashing thread without complaining about the Greek section, would it?

I'm just stating what i saw. That section was the first to empty out.

Maybe we didn't see the same thing. It emptied out, but it did at the same time the upper part of the student section did. I'm not saying it's a good thing, just think people use the greeks as a scape goat because of some ridiculous animosity. Half of the student section is just as much to blame as the greeks for leaving early.

Well then I don't know what game you attended. It was absolutely deafening for the 1st half. Especially when they were backed up by the goal line. Even if LSU is not as loud as it used to be, I would bet money that no game in the country this year has been as loud as that Florida-LSU game.

Yeah I've been up there for parts of games before. The sound does get muffled.

So you're saying that the first drive encompassed the entire first half? I don't understand your post.

We need to win this battle with the negatigers.
The only way to do this is to become even more loud and obnoxious than they are. They are a vocal minority, so it is possible.

That can definitely make a difference. I was in the student section and couldn't hear myself think. And I assure you Florida was feeling the same effects. When they received that delay of game when they were near the goal line, that was because the players couldn't hear Tebow. They almost got another one on the very next play, but they were able to call a timeout. You could tell that Tebow was aggravated. Maybe our fans have relaxed a bit since the old days, but they still come to play when they are needed.

we wait through the summer for August to roll around and fall practice to start

we wait through august for the first game of the season

once we finally we get to the season and the 7 home games we have waited so long for we:

sit outside the stadium drinking and watching games on TV until the last possible minute to go in

sit inside the stadium quietly watching the game

leave as quickly as we can with the game still going on to sit outside the stadium to drink and watch games on tv or beat the traffic back to our house

this makes sense to anyone? we wait for 7 dates out of 365 and then we act like this when they are here?

Obviously people who purchase tickets and donate have the right to do whatever they want concerning the game.

But two guys in front of me Saturday night, got up before HALFTIME and left. And they weren't students with a party to attend. They didn't have wives with them complaining to leave. Maybe they did need to get home, but why even come if that's the case.

That's fine- do what you please. Doesn't mean I understand it though. Why even come to the game?

Tiger Stadium may not be as different as some make it out to be, but there are thousands of people who do not make any noise when the other team has the ball, AND THEY MUST KNOW that making noise is to our advantage. Are they lazy? I just don't get it.

my point exactly

if tailgating is what you are in to then give the tickets to someone that cares about the game and just stay your arse outside in a tent

I know being an established team versus an up and coming team has something to do with it. Its expectations.

And maybe this isn't the best comparison- but they Saints have been competive since 06. Go to the dome and tell me that atmosphere is not awesome. It's not one section either. Its the entire dome.

Tiger Stadium was even better than the dome when we were up and coming early in this decade.

Maybe the TV wasn't picking up the sound in Tiger Stadium, but during commercials, I would switch over to the MSU-UF game, and that crowed sounded a lot louder. Things have just changed from the old days I guess.
