he has sick moves.
In a more pass-happy offense, Lafell would be up for Heisman.

He is the man and he blocks and lays the wood. Gotta love the guy even if he's not perfect like all of us.

agreed. Not dissin on Brandon. He's made such an improvement, and fought off so much adversity. I was really shocked when he dropped those balls, and I chalk it up to a fluke.

It's not a fluke.
It's mechanics and its correctable.
The tendency is to rely on using your body to pin the ball with your arms.
Lafell's drops are often when moving from right to left. The correct position of the hands when receiving this ball is left hand on top and right hand underneath. When the left hand is low, your thumbs are not in the correct position and catching is awkward, unless you basket the catch.
Think about it. If you are playing third base and a ball is hit down the line and the glove is on your left hand, are you going to swing the glove underneath with your thumb on the bottom, or are you going to cross over with your thumb facing downward?
If you go back and look at Lafell's mechanics on his drops, you will find that he doesn't use proper technique. That being said, there are plenty of NFL receivers that do the same. Even Lafell's TD catch in the corner from Flynn in the NC game had his left hand low.

Brandon Lafell= Arguably the best route runner in LSU history... too bad he has so many drops.
It seems like he thinks too much about catching the ball.

is lafell right handed? if so, it's usually the other way around.

LaFell or Byrd

I'm not sure at this level if a dominant side comes into play.
It should be second nature.
Whichever shoulder is closest to the ball, that hand is on top.

Yes he did, but in fairness all LSU WRs seemed to have a lot of drops when JR was QB.
