Good list. Guys either have experience or have been in the system and 'should' know their assignments. No reason that group can't run block and pass protect at the SEC level. Starting OT's need to stay healthy.

“LSU's "Best 5" OL's would be hard pressed to make the third team at Alabama. Fact, not opinion.”

Think you need to look up the definition of fact and opinion. Wow. That statement is so bad on so many levels.

Summer offseason is when they would work to move an offensive lineman to another position - Clapp didn't make the move until fall camp began although he missed most of spring due to injury last year.
Summer lets them work individually on all the habits you would need to make that move to center.

Might be correct but it is clearly opinion not facts.

Not at all sold on Brumfield. What makes everyone believe he is an SEC caliber OL? Please tell.

Well, to be considered SEC caliber one must start in the SEC, which he did all last year. So my question to you is would you rather add another young first year starter to a group that is already replacing two/three(don't know what you count Malone as) starters, or keep a redshirt senior second year starter? If you do choose someone else over Brumfield, please explain to me why with evidence from meaningful playing time.

Well, maybe Second-Team All SEC and player of the week at least twice last year that I can remember. Satisfied?

Geez, you could at least try to keep up.

I call your statement bullshite and pure garbage.

If our OL was no better than 3rd string at Bama, why we went into the 4th qtr in 2016 tied 0-0? And how did we outgain them in yards last year, and play them very hard for most of the game?

You are just pulling shite out of your arse!!

I say the same thing. In fact, the coach speak that "We will have to find a way to get Lewis on the field or squeeze him into the starting lineup" is such bullshite! I would say this, "Damien Lewis earned the starting job at LG over Brumfield because he is much better and stronger and we will play the best players at every position"

You always give a second OG plenty of snaps at C for depth. This sounds like more than that... time will tell. I thought Cushenberry was looking good enough (not great, but good enough) to be penciled in. If this is more than "backup reps", then I was wrong. We will know for sure by fall. As for a shuffle someone mentioned, by all means definitely a possibility. Ingram looked better at OG last year than Charles did before he moved to OT. Lewis, he's showing out. If they have to shuffle to get Lewis on the field- then by all means. Brumfield is pretty damn good, and is experienced (plus plus for a protection calling center) and you want to leave Ingram on the field too... makes sense. It's the best 5 combo they are reaching for. Since Lewis is much much much both better than rated (I'm not going to say expected) somebody has to go back a spot on depth chart. And I'm sure they loathe to take a solid and experienced IL in Brumfield back. So this is about Ingram and Cush... which one is better. Ingram proved himself last year to me, and continues to progress. Cush was progressing very well (IMO) but was starting from further behind. It's how it goes. ETA: NOW is the time for such things. Not fall camp on into the first 4 games. I mention that because the inability to identify strengths/weaknesses and make adjustments early was one of, if not my biggest, gripe about Grimes. Kudos to Cregg for doing this now; now he just needs to get it right and execute properly.

thanks
very good info

Dude what does the 2016 line have to do with 2018 o line? Theres not 1 starter from 2016 on the 2018 line....
