Man, let's just wait and see what happens. If LSU plays it's game like they're capable of doing, we have a good chance at winning. Good thing is, that our defense has been improving all season and this is the perfect scenario for them to show up and ball out like they're capable of doing. I'm not worried about our offense, we will get ours. I have a great feeling going into this game. Not anxious or nervous about our offense like in years past which is huge for the entire team. This team is on a mission and will show up and ball out. Geaux tigers.

The matchup for them is going to be if they can cover them in man,” said an assistant who faced LSU this year. “They don’t play zone well, that’s what happened in the UCF game last year, and they couldn’t cover them. That’s going to be the game, if they can cover the receivers in man. I’d imagine Bama thinks they can get them out of man and soften them up in quarters like UCF did.”

Any assistant coach who thinks Zone is why we had an issue with with UCF and not 7 DBS being out isn’t gonna be coaching long

No he is not. LBs are not a weakness. That is first give away. Vincent I can reason with somewhat, Delpit is not nearly as bad as is being made out to be with those comments.

Whoever this assistant coach is should be grateful that he has a job. First of all, it was said all Fiesta Bowl long that we were out 7-10 defenders for the game including our top 3 CBs (Greedy-skipped, Fulton-injured, Joseph-suspended) and then Stanford guy and Delpit got ejected. With converted WRs playing DB, we still only gave up 120 yards passing to UCF.

He's pretty much right on! We'll see if we can outscore them..We'll have to put up 40 to win.

Problem with all that is Bama's defense in the middle against the run is almost non-existent with the freshmen linebackers and tackles. 4 of them. And the linebackers are easily confused and will give up play after play to LSU's big receivers on the short pass. And who know if Tua will play and if he does he is not going to be any threat running or evading.

It's all lined up for LSU. The coaching, the talent, the QB and Bama's soft defense.

If you believe these idiots who loss to LSU, our Dline is over weight, our linebackers are not any good and our secondary is soft. What a load of crap!

I would feel so much better if Chaisson was that guy.

Chiasson is going to be a difference maker in this game one way or the other and I think he will do well.

I also think we are going to be blitzing with a linebacker more often than usual. Losing Divinity may force our hand a little, as Aranda may want to keep it simple for his replacements, and going after the QB is pretty simple.

Can Vincent surprise us?
Can the linebackers get pressure on Tua?
Will Stingley and/or Fulton get a game-changing INT?
Will our linebackers keep Harris from breaking into the open?

Those are the questions for me.

Crazy thing about this game with Alabama, I’m looking to see how both DC’s defend these explosive offenses. That’s what intrigues me.

He kinda nailed it really. No secrets revealed here.

Except for Delpit, who is excellent in man coverage FOR A SAFETY. Sure, I would expect a mismatch if Delpit has to cover one of Bama's top 3 receivers in the slot, but that's true of any safety.

A goal line stop from BAMA like Auburn was able to and that's the game.

LSU's strategy should be to come with six and seven man pressures on two thirds of the plays early on. Once Tua gets accustomed to the pressure, and starts getting rid of the ball quickly, they should start overloading an area, but rushing only four.

I agree in that need to set up Tua, create confusion, set up to create turnovers.

Eh, linebacker play hasn’t been great. They were our biggest problem early on and why teams like Vandy were driving the field on us. Now, they have been improving as the year has gone on but part of that improvement has been Divinity. His departure does indeed hurt. Really really sucks for this game as he could rush the passer and keep their running game on check.

The article is spot on and is why I’m truly concerned about our ability to stop them. I hope Aranda is not his usual risk averse self. We need to try to create some negative plays or turnovers. If we play our usual passive game plan we may get torched.
