Let me rephrase it then, if I were a General Manager that's what I would do. The point I made still stands. Byrd isn't an elite receiver, therefore I would not be considering this fool as a high round draft choice.

I think Lee threw more INT's than he did passes to Byrd all year. Hatch sure wasn't throwing the ball well and JJ only got 2 games in. So it may not be great to blame it on the QB situation but I think it's pretty accurate if you look at it honestly.

They do draft character issue guys. Most often character issues cost the player lots of money. My statement says IF I WERE THE GM I would not touch BYRD with a high round pick. First off, he's not good enough to spend a 1st or 2nd round pick on. That and character issues would put him at the end of MY line. GM's botch these situations all the time. I hope Byrd freezes his arse off north of the border. He sold out his team, and I have no use for players like that.

Guys like Ray Lewis have character issues, but they don't lay down on the field. Byrd laid down on the field and hung his teammates out to dry. You can have him.

Haven't read all the comments, but to me Byrd was highly overrated. And I'm not surprised he would "throw QBs under the bus". He has to blame someone for his suck arse performance last year.

Byrd's comments speak for themselves. If he blames a qb now, when his team in the NFL ain't doing so hot, he'll start blaming someone else.

Your assessment is dead on. He'll be a cheap pick up in the later rounds, and when the going gets tough, he will be gone, long gone, unless he changes his attitude.

It wasn't the class way to handle it, but can you dispute he's telling the truth? KC.

FWIW I said all along that Lafell was better than Byrd and I was right.

Byrd doesn't run good or work as hard or provide the leadership he should

I bet you wouldn't tell that to his face internet tough guy.

How many times did he drop a ball or fumble, fall down on field as if he was hurt to the point of never playing again and be back in the next play. He's fragile physically and needs leadership around him.

Well, in fairness to Jarrett Lee, Rashad Johnson sang his praises at Alabama's Pro Day.

"That play pretty much epitomized what I'm all about. My recognition of what was going on, my break on the ball, my athleticism and speed."

LINK

I assume he was talking about his pick 6 in that quote. If you remember, Lee also threw the interception to Johnson in overtime.

Jarrett Lee needed to transfer - I am not going to restrain myself from booing him any longer. I just hope he doesn't get on the field.

Can you blame the guy? He had a tremendous junior year with a qb. No without one scouts haven't mentioned his name much.... I hope he does well in the league..

It will be interesting if both Jefferson and Lee make a NFL roster one day.

Byrd didn't lose a whole lot of money - even if he had a great year he would not have been in the top 3 in this draft. The money dropoff is huge after 3 and then averages out around 500-750k.

You have to admit he could have had a better attitude about the whole thing.

Who is "they"? The QBs? Sucking and quitting are two entirely different things.

if he throws into single coverage to Byrd and it's intercepted, no one gets upset with him b/c it's more the recievers fault usually
People are still bitching about Lee's 1st pick 6 against Bama, which went directly into the hands of Byrd. You sure don't seem to be giving Lee any breaks or holding Byrd accountable for that one.
