Do you have any video of how loud they were at the end of that game? I honestly can't remember....

1. no, that was nowhere close to LSU/Florida. Didn't even approach as loud, much less louder

2. we get louder than that for pregame with our band.

Will people please stop posting the Enter Sandman artificial noisemaker intro like it is something to marvel at.

Did Metallica attend VT back in the day? Is a Hokie a type of dream-inducing supernatural being? It's so artificial that it's laughable.

I was at the sugar bowl in january and I asked a tech fan what a hokie is. All I heard was some retarded story about a cheer they used to do back in the day. "hokie hokie pokie..." or some stupid shite like that.
And the tech fans were not very loud in the dome. At least nothing like Florida 07 or bama 10 in TS.

Worst part is, is that the OP didn't even link the Enter Sandman video. He linked the entrance to the VT-Boise St game that was at the Redskin's place. If you are going to link a VT entrance, at least use their "Enter Sandman" entrance at Lane Stadium.

I was on the field for that entrance as VT faculty at the time. The end of that game sucked out loud.

But, I must say that LSU will always be louder in a similar matchup. Maybe not when they play Cupcake State. But I can tell you that TS is literally deafening on the field before a big matchup.

However, you are correct that the sustain of that entrance is pretty great. VT fans will jump for hours to Sandman. The tradition of jumping was actually started by "accident" the first time it was done. It was not planned at all. The best traditions are spontaneous.

I was at that game. It was good...but not great. I think we are better when we rock!

ok so they get the award for intro noise? good for them.

they don't approach us on actual game noise.

come to think of it, (mentioning the LSU-UF 07 game) LSU was louder during a tv timeout when they announced the winner of another game than any other place in the country at any time probably since then so
"nice try sparky, (tears paper) nice try."

edit: that said, i really like VT and their fans (the 07 tailgate was one of my personal faves) and would love to play them in a home/home again.

We've struggled with the whole entrance thing since Les got here. There's no rhyme or reason to it. They used to let the entrance video play, show the players touching the WIN bar in the tunnel then the band would strike up and the team would run out. Now sometimes the team runs out in the middle of the video, sometimes the video is over for a full 2 or 3 minutes before they run out. Just very discombobulated.

Hard to compare these things and definitely not going to get a fair comparison on an LSU board when asking if they're louder than LSU. I've been to both LSU(for VT 2007) and VT(many times including our trip to VT) and it's just different atmospheres. One, LSU's crowd is about 30,000 bigger than VT's, so obviously there is more noise. VT's crowd is smaller but the stadium is as well and is surrounded by mountains so the sound is kind of enhanced. Simply put, both are great atmospheres and part of what makes college football the greatest fan sport in the country. When VT is in Lane Stadium and "Enter Sandman" comes on, it is indeed a sight to behold. It's a great scene and possibly the best entrance in college football. Between the piped in music, the screaming, the bouncing and the shaking car keys, it's quite loud. There were many LSU fans in Blacksburg for the game we played there , so quite a few know how the atmosphere is there. Doesn't make it better than LSU, it's just it's own unique scene in college football.
