I don't think LSU has played a solid game since the Capital One Bowl in 2005 - ALL HAIL LORD SABAN

Yes, we lost that game on a blown coverage by a defense and CB coached by LORD SABAN.

the point I am trying to make is the fact that I have only been able to say for 3, maybe 4 games in the last 3 seasons that we actually played well and put a full 60 minutes together...and, that, my friend, is sad.

and in those 3 years we have won 30 games counting UNC. So what is really sad?

One of the hallmarks of Less Miles teams is much more often than not we win ugly, and it doesn't matter who the opponent is. There is hardly ever any mop up time to give young quarterbacks experience because we are always holding on for dear life or trying to make a come back.

CAN YOU REMEMBER???
...the last time, while walking out of the stadium or turning your TV off after an LSU football game, you said, "Wow, we really played well!"

How about the last 27 games, chief?
how many of those games has LSU played a consistent, well coached game?
or is that not a big enough sample size?

Virginia Tech.

That was the last time I thought, wow we really were just better in every aspect of the game than that team. .

Va. Tech at home a few years back. I thought we played well against UF that year too.

Start to finish: Auburn for sure (09). Bama, yes and no (09). Before that, skip over entire 08 season and go back to 07 (VA Tech). and then back to 05 (Peach, GA Tech). In the current administration's tenure, won a lot of games, yes we have. But played up to potential start to finish in most of them -- that is questionable. Esp. last 2 seasons and so far this one.

But let's beat Vandy start to finish, and reverse the pattern.

Florida in 07 was the best game and the hardest hitting game I have ever seen the Tigers play.

Two years ago: Auburn (came back with one minute left on the road), Troy (scored 37 unanswered points in 16 minutes to put the game away - showed lots of character), South Carolina (road SEC win), Alabama (Bama needed a pick in OT to secure the win after returning a pick 6 earlier in the game), Ga. Tech (no explanation necessary)

Last year: Washington (road win, they beat USC at home), Miss. State (road SEC win, they were much improved last year), Georgia (road SEC win), Auburn (domination), Alabama (tough dogfight against nation's best team on the road), Arky (good win over much improved squad), Penn State (gutty performance in terrible conditions, had a great chance to win if not for terrible penalty call on Hitt in last drive). I would also include the defensive performance against the Gators here. Only one other team held the Gators to 13 points last season - Alabama.
