Peterson isn't trying to learn 4 different positions at one time.

Curious what did Eugene do or not do to grant Peterson passing him on the depth chart? Heck, Lee had to get hurt for JJ to come in. Where did this get the best player on the field mentality come from. I think politics had a lot to do with his promotion. I will admit he played a great game yesterday but that was arkansas.

Patrick Peterson had a monster game last night.
Good coverage most of the game, two dropped Ints that would have sealed the game...

I agree with you opinion but why point toward one player. This team is filled with high level recruits. Name one that has lived up to expectations. Peterson has played better than the others but he would not have been a starter in the previous three season. The fact is, this staff has developed few if any of the high quality recruits they have signed.
Daniels, Corey Webster, Zenon, and Jackson were not as highly rated as HS recruits as most of the DBs on the 08 roster. IMO, coaching has been the difference.

I thought CJ was going to be really good this year. If you watch, even in the first few games of the season against much lesser opponents, we were getting beat on third down for long pass plays right down the middle. I remember seeing the dbs looking at each other and it always seemed that CJ was the culprit that bit to the outside. Now we're later in the season and it appears the same things are still happening. Checkthe Ole Miss game when they hit a third down over the middle and we are quadruple covering one guy on the sideline. Looked to me as CJ was supposed to cover the middle. IMO, this is why we have continuously seen Mcray obviously being played out of position and being burnt.

You just named a talented group of former DBs that gave up last minute heaves to Iowa and Ar Kansas, losing both games. And again, who was their DB coach? The demigod that so many seem to worship...

b/c in my opinion, he has been the biggest disappointment on the defensive side of the ball
this guy was the joe mcknight for our defense
one of the best defensive prospects in the country
after 2 years he still looks lost. there has been alot of poor performances, but few recruits have come in with the fanfare #3 has

McCray = Safety
Jones = Safety
Neither are CBs. They do not prosper in man-to-man coverage. Remember the talk of moving Jones to LB? The guy is not a CB. He's a safety. Play him there.

Because Miles loves upperclassmen. There's no reason for Taylor and Coleman to be starting over McRay and Jones.

I said that before the season started only to be told I was a ranter and that he will be a great safety. We need and the game these day require quicker LB's. He has the size and speed to be a good LB.

is he playing as well as the #1 rated safety in high school...no. but these defensive coaches have repeatedly asked the safties (mccray & jones) to cover man up. if that is what you are going to do, bring in cornerbacks in those nickel/dime situations. if I remember correctly, jai has become a pretty good tackler. just my opinion, and I am the smartest guy I know.

how did patrick peterson win a starting job?

Jai Eugene is a SOPH
Curtis Taylor is a SR. And a returning starter.
and Coleman is a JR.
And they prob think Jones is better than any of those guys at Dime back, in turn it would be best for the team.
