Should read, how many think he'll even GO to the NFL? This kid has a VERY bright future in MLB. Yes, he also is a very talented football player & is a NFL prospect BUT......where do you think he'll go, baseball or football? I think he'll opt for baseball, especially since his football position is such a physical position & the life expectancy there is not real good. He can go play baseball & have a very long & wealthy career without the everyday concern of your body taking a physical beating on every play. Or he could go to the NFL & become a linebacker...who knows!
G E A U X T I G E R S!!!
He has better and longer future as a pro athlete in the MLB!

I think Chad could lose a few pounds. He looks too heavy and bulked up to me for safety. He could lose 10-15 pounds and get quicker next season. I hear Colston did this in the past offseason and he seems a little quicker. I see Chad as a safety playing at 215-220 range instead of 230 plus

To prevent MLB, let him play D, return all punts, and play TE or slot and pimp him for the heisman.

Gone to pro baseball next year.

I agree with LSUSaint on this, and I wouldn't mind if he played SS for us. He just seemed wasted playing 25 yds downfield on most plays. Nickel wasn't his best position, and FS wastes his ability.

Left-handed middle relief pitchers hang around the majors for decades being paid 1m a year to pitch 1 or 2 innings a week
Sure they make money once they reach the show, but there aren't a whole lot of relief pitchers getting snatched up in the 1 st round. Most MLB middle relievers were starters out of college, and were moved to the pen. He is no starter, and while I think he has potential to be a good closer, is not close yet. He would be a flyer in the early rounds. After the top 10 rounds of the draft, the signing bonuses go way down, and the salary for all minor leaguers is pauperish. If he sticks to fb and gets picked in the top 2 rounds, bingo, instant millionaire. Baseball has the better "big show" experience for players, but the minors really, really, really, really, really, really, really suck.

I saw an article a while back where Chad said he wants to play both. The linked article below is not the one I remember, but says essentially the same thing.

Mainieri questioned the idea of the feasibility of playing both football and baseball professionally in this era. “I don’t think anyone’s good enough anymore to play both sports,” Mainieri said.
That’s not a decision that Jones plans to make anytime soon, and he said he believes he can play both sports.
“I would love to do that,” he added.

We disagree.

he'll go in the 5-10th round...hopefully it wont be high enough money...but yes...lefty throwing 93 good breaking ball...has no tear on his arm...loves baseball....I bet miles ask manieri to play him in the outfield more so that he doesnt get drafted as pitcher...
You bet. However, as much as I want Jones back for football, I also want him to get paid as much as possible (like JR, Dorsey, T. Jackson, and C. Mitchell).
Jones and the players deserve it, especially so when their coaches rake in millions every year due (in part) to the performances of their players. Those same players work as hard as possible for the opportunity to go pro, knowing full well that all it takes is one serious injury to end their chance of making it to the next level.
BTW, I heard Miles attended the last CWS to make certain Jones wouldn't throw the ball...

Why does everyone think he's a LB when I bet noone can name one big tackle he made on a RB near the line his entire career here?
And McCluster's big run on the first series of that game was bc Chad took a horrible angle to the ball.

It was a joke, referencing Coach Miles' refusal to let R. Shepard throw a pass this season.
It may not have been a good joke to you or others, but I did tell it to Miles the day after the LA Tech game and he laughed. That's good enough for me.
I've followed your posts, too, btw, and you're one of the worst (or best) when it comes to talking "out of your arse." So, we'll just take your word for it, given your anal fixation.
