The problem is she is a nurse and works every other weekend. She has to work next weekend and then also Christmas.
One word to solve your problem with the wife.
DIAMONDS.....
dont worry about the kids she will get them in line once she is blinded by her new bling.
I like that one!

Should have married someone who likes football.
Fail on your part.

Do I have to throw out my LSU football fan credentials?
Yeah, at this point, probably so.
This has been on the calendar in my house since last week.
I find that it helps if you go to your wife first and say,
"Hey, listen, the SEC Championship Game is on from 3-6pm on Saturday. So, I made some Christmas plans for us for Saturday morning, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon. You good with that?"
If she says, "No, I want Saturday afternoon, too," you've got a bigger problem than football.
Take the initiative with the planning and you don't have to worry about getting blindsided.

That being said, whoever I marry is going to have to understand my college football obsession.
Every single girl I talk to, I make sure to let them know about my (unhealthy) obsession with football.
"Just so you know, in the Fall I'm basically never available on the weekends. Seriously."

Someone needs a pair of nuts for Christmas and someone else needs a pair of Irish Sunglasses...
Try scheduling "date night" during Dancing With the Survivors or whatever it is women watch and see how fast "our time" gets dropped.
You've got to stand your ground NOW or you never will. Stand your ground, don't appologize for it, don't act humble or sad or let her convince you that you're somehow abusing your kids because you want to do something that you enjoy.
Not sure why I typed this out; I'm sure I'll get a scathing PM from his wife now...

LSU Football is a family event at my house
Yes indeed.
My 10 year old is wearing his number 7 jersey today and is as anxious as I am for 3:00!
It's hard to think of anything more enjoyable than watching a Tiger victory with my son.

My wife knows not to ask me that. I could see if it was something already planned with your kids but to jump up and just insist you miss the game is BS.

She could kiss my arse and we can take the kids the weekend after....
Aint no way i'm missing this football game.
They wanna see lights? Heres a flashlight and a box of matches go out in the yard and have a blast.

You are not handling your wife correctly.

Now the ONE thing that I find impressive so far in this thread is that NOONE has yet to ask for a pic of the wife. But you know sooner or later some jackass will.

A healthy marriage has to have a balance of each spouse willing to enter into the other's pleasures. If it's one sided, that will spell trouble at some point. Balance is the key.

My wife is taking her brother to her company Christmas party this evening. Game starts at 4, party at 7.
