How do their fans not throw a bitch fit. I’d be bored out of my mind having to watch LSU play a schedule like that. Nobody on that schedule outside of ND has even a quarter of the talent of a Clemson

Because they know they only have to get up for 1 or 2 games a year and make their way into the playoffs.

There should be an argument when competing for a recruit where we say to a kid, do you really want to play a schedule like that every year? Sure, they'll cake walk into the playoffs, but the regular season game (with one exception) is an absolute bore. On the other hand, why not play for an SEC team and participate in 5-6 brawls every season?

Their own fans have a thread on their forum acknowledging that the Notre Dame game is their entire season in 2020.
Most seem to also realize that Notre Dame is no real threat to top teams.

If they make the playoff in consecutive years with that Division II schedule, I don’t know how the committee can deny an unbeaten AAC team a spot and keep a straight face.
The past few years, the American has been a much stronger conference than the ACC minus Clemson.
At least the American has multiple 10+ win teams and multiple ranked teams. ACC had one of each in 2019 — Clemson.
American also had a better record in bowl games, 4-3 (AAC) compared to 4-7 (ACC).

They’ll play 10 unranked opponents, 1 ranked in the 20s and 1 ranked in the teens then their fans will beat their chest about how great they are. They’re pulling in talent because they have a pass to play for the championship every year. It’s time to replace the ACC with the American as a P5 football conference if no one wants to compete

So many programs in the ACC have been down for a long arse time: FSU, Miami, VA Tech. They all used to be contenders. Hopefully we can witness Clemson lose at ND
