And yet through a combination of the two, we posted our most thorough arse-kicking of the last three years. We didn't struggle to put 51 points on the board. Our offense struggled with what they did, but the team as a whole did not.
Fair enough. But which unit struggled for Wisconsin that leads someone to believe they should not have jumped us.

I would hardly call a team that beat Western Kentucky by 17 points a confrence foe. During that game Western Kentucky scored right at the end on a bs call. So truthfully Indiana only beat them by WKU by 10.
Is that the same Western Kentucky who barely lost to ULM who got beat by 28 by Middle Tennessee State?
Let's be real: Indiana would beat the crap out of ULM.

Not an effing clue. You don't post the most points scored by an FBS team this season (in regulation, no less) and then get jumped in the standings.
That said, I'm a big LSU fan and a little Ohio State fan this weekend.

It was Indiana! If they would have done that to a team like Illinois I would be impressed but Indiana cmon now.
It's remarkable that a team can put up 83 points on anyone. Period. And good to know we draw the line of credibility at Illinois

Its funny to me how running up the score is just accepted now as a result of Boise and TCU doing it out of necessity to earn "style points".....
In 2003 OU scored 70+ points on A&M, and proceeded to get absolutely hammered in the media for being classless.
Over the last 4-5 years two things have changed dramatically:
1. running up the score is fine
2. SOS carries hardly any weight in the human poll, except for 1 week after a big victory. A teams body of work regarding strength of schedule is basically an afterthought.
I am not saying Wisconsin isnt a good team or dont deserve to jump LSU for 1 week; if LSU beats Arkansas on the road this wont matter anyway.

its just unnecessary to run up the score. 83 points doesnt really show anything to me and its sad that the system has come down to this nonsense.

Welcome - nice post, and I agree with you except for you comment above. I don't think anyone's fine with running up the score, but you can't responsibility ignore a score like that.

This is the same guy who went for 2 late against Minnesota. I think we might hate Bilema more if he was an sec coach.

no they didn't. the score was 77-0 in the THIRD QUARTER. they proceeded to KNEEL the ball on the 2 yard line in the third quarter. that's how pathetic a&m was that year

I think the human voters are numb to it, thats pretty much what I was getting at.
If you look at the recent history where Boise and TCU werent legitimate contenders for the NC game, teams were compared much more objectively.
It was a comparison much like what happens during the selections for March Madness; marquee wins etc. etc. were held in higher regard than they are now.
Like I said earlier this has little to do with LSU dropping to #6, Wisconsin is a good team.

this is just not true. Why do you think Auburn passed TCU and Boise?

Wisconsin was a head of LSU last week. Some voters may be punishing LSU for the UT game still

The only third stringers we had in the game were at WR. JJ was throwing deep balls with a few minutes left in the game, and looked terrible doing it. Offensively it was an embarrassing struggle. Defense was awesome as usual.
This is why people call concerned fans negatigers. What more do you want? Our offense didn't hit on all cylinders last night, but nothing about that game was a struggle.

" Stuggled to score 51"!!! Wow, in my two years reading post on the rant this is the stupidest comment by far! Go kill your self!!!

TCU and Boise had no right being ahead of Auburn in the 1st place, IMO voters just didnt buy that Auburn was THAT good.
If SOS was the make or break factor, as it should be, Auburn would be #1 in the human polls.
They have played a top 5-10 schedule while Oregon has played a worse schedule on paper than TCU and Boise....
Again, why is Oregon #1 in the human poll, because they blew every team out by 40. They gained so much awe factor that its now impossible for Auburn to jump them.

which goes back to another point, LSUs win over Alabama was hyped for a total of 1 week; now the focus is back to the wins where LSU scraped by.

FWIW, not only did LSU not get jumped (was #6 in USA poll last week), but they got more votes this week than last overall, so no penalty was imposed.
It's all good people. If LSU wins out I believe they will pass BSU in the overall BCS standings (but maybe not TCU) and finish in the top 4.
Besides, it's just a game?

We had McCartney at QB at the end of the game
It was an easy victory, and the young players we had in on defense were flying all over the field. It WAS A SHUTOUT!

really? Division 1 teams have no right to be ranked? That's an interesting position.

where is it written that SOS should be the make or break factor? Clearly they use it as a factor, just not the only factor. It doesn't matter who is #1 or #2. Both get in.
