The good thing about Saban is he has no loyalties to asst. coaches

Maybe if he could keep an assistant coach he would have a chance to develop loyalties

that should be apparent to all...and that's good? some eighteen yr old cornerback blows coverage and the position coach and his family should be out of a job? what a bunch of garbage. nick saban is a merc...nothing more nothing less. he's a good coach...nothing more nothing less. he's a great recruiter...nothing more nothing less. les miles has more character in his middle finger than saban possesses in his whole body. miles can flat out coach..miles can flat out win..ask larry coker and the poser 'her'icanes..ask fatboy weiss king of the domers..ask 'the vest' tressel at 'the' overhyped osu..ask little bobby 'oops' stoops at ou..and oh yeah ask 'no loyalty' nick who if colt david doesn't choke on a chip shot is 0-2 against Miles.

You are personally incorrect. The defense is our biggest issue, followed by the QB issues and the poor reciever coaching/grooming.

So you're saying if we had Matt Flynn at QB, we wouldn't have beaten Alabama and Georgia wouldn't have been a toss up?

A Coach, at this level,
is a CEO, CFO, PR man and Coach...SO to a large extent
he is only as good as his assistants.

He will rise and fall as his assistants rise and fall

Which quarterback put up 52 on Florida and 53 on Georgia? You can't give up 500 yards and 35-40 points on defense in the SEC. Our QB is a HELL of a lot better than our defense.

Your very "inappropriate" with comments like that. I bet you left early. No, you probably couldn't afford a ticket.

Crowton as OC has also made some very bad mistakes this year putting a freshman QB into some very bad situations, instead of playing into the teams strengths. Overall Crowton is good but he's laid a few eggs this year.

In fairness to Crowton, with the exception of the Alabama game, he really didn't have a choice. With any kind of half-assed defense, he could have brought Lee along at a more comfortable pace, but the pressure to score literally every time we got the ball forced him to throw Lee into the fire too soon.

Once Les Miles loses the positive aspects of having very good OC's and DC's, he becomes a very average coach, and that's the result that we have here today.

Well, it's unfair to say this because he doesn't simply not have very good DCs, he has unbelievably horrible DCs who couldn't do much worse for us if they tried. We still don't know how Miles would do with an average DC and our current OC. I think with an average defensive coordinator this year, we'd very likely be 9-1 right now, with only a loss to Florida.

Alabama? No. Flynn threw almost as many picks against Alabama last year (when Bama sucked) as Lee did this year. Georgia? No. Flynn wouldn't have been playing defense.

Link I don't remember this happening. If said 18 year old repeatedly blows assignments and shows no improvement, the coach should be kept on the payroll. If he is that good of a coach he will get another job don't kid yourself. Also, if tthe coach is doing a good job and gets an offer for more money somewhere else he is gone 90% of the time. You need to be loyal to yourself and your boss/bosses because if you are not you will end up without a job.

I am not saying Saban is the best coach or boss there is, but he does get results.

Wayne Huzinga might have an argument with that. I personaly believe Saban is a good coach and right now he is winning with mainly Shula's recruits (doesn't that sound familiar?) who have matured into a fine team. Miles has also shown he can get results and when these kids mature it's gonna' be geaux time again in the bayou. Later.

Ummm. No. Does every coach in the nation have good coordinators? I think not

No, they don't but Miles isn't different from many other of the "top" coaches in the country.

We've seen what's happened to many of the coaches who've won BCS championships and had staff turnover and even the ones who haven't won BCS titles.

Tennessee never really wasn't as efficient on offense once Cutcliffe left and their defense is good this year but for some years this decade on scoring defense, they haven't been the greatest under Chavis.

FSU was really the same once Richt left.

Mack Brown's defense was terrible last year after Chizik left.

UGA's defense has been so-so since VanGorder left and they really suck this year.

Oklahoma's defense haven't really been as strong since Mike Stoops took the Arizona job and they aren't that stiff this year either even when Stoops' background is on defense.

Those are just a few coaches but I honestly don't feel he's any different from many of the best coaches in that regard.

You can't blame just Crowton for putting LSU in those situations. I promise you Miles has just as much fault at that as Crowton. Miles takes over the playcalling sometimes...

He's a good coach (not a great one) but ONLY if he hires good DC's and OC's. He's got a good OC, but his DC hires this year sucked balls, and we're seeing those results on the field.

Right on the money. He is a CEO head coach, and as such is only as good as his OC and DC, as long as he empowers them. He needs to hire strong guys in these positions and then recruit like hell, motivate like hell and get the hell out of the way. That is what he did last year.

He kept the good ones. Name a coach that staid with Saban that is not in demand.

He ran Heyworth off after one season of screwed up special teams. Dooley took his place and now is HC at Tech. I think Heyworth is at Notre Dame. Another left for Ohio State and was replaced with Muschamp.

Sal Sunseri was LSU's lb coach in 2000, and left after a year to go to Michigan State.
