It definitely has not. I listened to their ever-delusional Locked on Ole Miss guy today and he was crowing that they will remain an elite team and will be in the playoffs this coming year and the expectation is a NC. I appreciated the optimism but when he said that it will happen in part to them “taking” our players he lost me.
Then someone in the comments said that what no one understands is that they have a program culture change that started in 2020.

LSU should never ever be a training ground for coordinators. Kelly himself said he came here because we are “elite in every way”. Why on God’s green earth would you ever hire an unproven coordinator.
He seems to have a level of loyalty that is detrimental to success. Loyal to the QB even when his arse should be on the bench when he’s having an off day. Bringing in staff that he’s friends with. Getting rid of current staff that were proven to be successful. Screw all that. The goal here is to WIN GAMES. Not form yourself a boys club.

This is true. However, Jimbo consistently recruited the best players in the country and remained consistently bad. Recruiting is a major piece, no doubt. But player development is crucial. What he did with Perkins was an abomination. Jayden disguised many weaknesses that have been there since day 1. Steady progress in building a winning team is a reasonable expectation and I don’t see it. CBK selection of coordinators has been a train wreck. Baker has made improvements and has a lot of injuries to contend with so he somewhat gets a pass. Big Game Kelly is the same guy he’s always been. He just has better resources and a better talent pool to squander away.
