I would have done exactly what auburn has done with Pearl. We will meet officially and with the ncaa at the conclusion of the trial at which time we will be able to obtain all facts.
If they suspend him state we will suspend him and the no leaks absolutely none. State we support him continue to pay him and want him to focus on the trial and clearing his name.

you know man, I can look at this situation outside of the Duke situation.
The administration did what most competent people would have done considering all the circumstances.
I'll agree Alleva should never have been hired anywhere after the Duke fiasco, but that's irrelevant.

This sums it up best. Wade is to blame for putting LSU in this position; sure, cheating is prevalent in college sports. But Wade is apparently on tape talking about a strong arse offer to a recruit that involves something for the mom and someone else. And there's no plausible explanation for any of it, other than that Wade was talking about providing improper benefits.
The reporting of what's on those tapes has to be alarming to LSU's administration and to any objective observer. And it surely wasn't lost on the NCAA.
Wade has every right not to talk about it with LSU or the NCAA. And LSU has every right to suspend him because of it.
Putting aside the interview issue, there's no legal prohibition against Wade stating publicly that he never made an improper offer. He hasn't done that either, nor have his lawyers. Again he has every right to stay quiet, and that's probably in his best interest. But it seems clear that he isn't talking because he's concerned about how his statements might be used against him.

Auburn is in a totally different situation, Pearl isn't implicated and Person has been fired.
Miller was suspended a game at Zona, and was reinstated when he totally denied his guilt. Wade hasn't done that.

Well, the funny thing is people here have bashed Kansas for knowing how slimy they are, and now are using this slimy school to justify keeping Wade on board.
