Many of you watch so little of the game I can see why you were frustrated. Imagine what it's like for Gino right now. He threw the ball 64 times for 424 yards and only got to the endzone three times.

There is a lot going on out there. This is a kind of offense which will dominate in the East, just like Oregon's offense dominates out West. Yet, somehow, both lost to LSU. How do you think this keeps happening?

They were holding their asses off on numerous occassins with no call, but still we should have gotten to that QB more than that. At first I though it might be by design because he was getting the ball out so fast or the fear of him running, but I think chavis decided to go protection for some reason most of the second half.

Man did you not see the holding going on, sure they were tough but there were very few calls on the holding, so they continued.

its hard to get pressure when you have 6 guys blocking 4 all night we blitzed maybe 9 times the whole game.

Looked like there was an awful lot of holding going on to me. I think WV got called on it once.

Its been said a few times in this thread, but West Virginia did seem to hold our linemen without any penalties. I think that coupled with the quick passing attack that was being used caused the change in our defensive line strategy. It looked like if our linemen didn't get the initial burst, they were trying to put their ands up and affect the throwing lanes.

I am not saying giving up 450+ passing yards is something I would like to see every week, but the 4 turnovers(could have easily been more) and 26 point win make giving up that many yards not hurt as much. The line did what they needed to do to win THIS game and they accomplished the ultimate goal of getting a W.

when did it become legal to grab a D lineman by the front of the pads under the helmet and pull back as he is running past you? I know the fog rolled in, bu i think the referees had fog in their eyes the entire game. Im sure LSU did osme too, but not as blatant as what was shown on TV.

They could have been called for holding on almost every play - once the refs made the decision to let them play it just got worse and worse.

WVU protection was pretty good, but I believe the defensive design was was to have Smith beat us by throwing. If you bumrush a running QB, you leave large running lanes open. WVU played right into our hands...game was never close with the exception of that dropped TD pass that gave them a little momentum.

Agree that was a head scratcher.

6 blocking 4 tends to do that...
