if you give the other team 13-14 possessions, you better score on offense VERY often
also, the more offensive possessions (and aggressive passing attack you have) the more likely you are to give the other team's defense a scoring play or big turnover. We've seen that. In other words, our offensive style is scoring a lot, but we also negate a little bit of it because of our style.

Maybe something along the lines to support your argument as you just agreed with me. Any way you want to slice it we have played piss poor defense.

Like I said, the missed tackles are the issue.
quote:

Sam Ehlinger threw fro 401 yard against us. A big 12 team tore up our defense for crying out loud.

Missed tackles.
quote:

Vandy's leading rusher gashed us for 6.5 yards per carry.

Missed tackles.

We have not played well on defense. Just admit that.

Missed tackles.

f you cannot, then you are more naive then you let on or bigger pumper than I am

I have never said they played well.

Can We remove the Vandy game since we beat the absolute frick out of them and the yards and points they got were all irrelevant

I see that as just a smartass comment not a change in argument

Are you this ignorant in real life? Everyone on this board, all talking heads, and even our own coaching staff has stated that is more than missed tackles.

However the almighty lnchbox says it's only missed tackles. Hahaha. You are one stubborn SOB. You are wrong. Im gonna pray for your mind and soul.

You're arguing just to argue dude. It's ok to admit my argument had some validity. We went three pages into the weeds before someone else pointed out that it may have been a smartass comment.

Link to me saying it is only the missed tackles. They are however the most pressing issue, and the main cause for our "piss poor" results.

Don't cop out like this.

No it doesn't. All the games count. We are what we are.

Did the giant picture saying that's not how any of this works or the blatantly sarcastic tone of the question not give it away?

I can't see images, and it did't seem sarcastic at all.

Obtuse. We won't see anything like Ga So this year. It's an outlier. Maybe we shouldn't "eliminate" it, rather take it with a grain of salt.

Cool, now let's do that with UT as well, since we won't see that every week either.

Again, obtuse. They run concepts similar to what we will see in UF, MSU, Auburn, and Bama

Why, because you don't want to do it?

Only Bama will put up similar numbers as Texas.

I mean their offensive suckiness

Auburn, Florida, and A&M, which make up 3 out of 4 of our toughest opponents suck on offense

Auburn and Florida are on Texas's level on offense, just ask Not Cooper

You just lumped them in with Texas, so what did you mean if that wasn't it?

Those teams have no shot of doing what Texas does on offense.

My point of this isn't to demonstrate that our defense is better than previous years, because I don't think that they've played better as of yet. I just figured I would point out that through 4 games, our defense is performing as well as it has in the past statistically.

so you are comparing entire seasons with 8 sec teams vs only 4 games with Georgia Southern NW State, and Vandy

quote:

But, I think it's important to note how many more possessions per game

I saw a stat that we are basically facing the same amount of plays as we have over the last 5 or 6 years.
