2 of those losses was to Boisie State team that he was 2 points down to late in the game and LSU losing by only 7

Like him or not...

I think he would love to have the resources and talent at LSU.....(not saying he would want to come to LSU)

BUT....what I see at LaTech is
PLAYER DEVELOPMENT / COACHING /CREATIVITY

some people just do not like the name because of his dad...
like him or not..pretty good coach.
although he fell onto the same trap of "not changing" that Charlie Mac did.
would win solidly during the season and be mediocre at Bowl Games.

I don't have anything against Dooley, but if he is so fearless a leader then why is afraid to play ULM or even Grambling. Is he afraid he can't get his team up for a "lesser" opponent??

where do you get this from.....???
Do you even understand the football system ???
I am sure is $$$

who would you want him to cancel to put ULM or GRAMBLING in ???

it'd be TOTALLY stupid from
1)a money standpoint and
2)WHERE DO ULM and GRAMBLING rank

in order for him to get RANKED, he needs to play other ranked teams (or better perceived teams)...ULM and GRAMBLING... are not it.

...remember, he is also the AD.

Tech has tried for years to distance themselves from ULM. They don't have a lot of reason to play them. It would bring a big crowd to either stadium (games played between the two have brought top crowds in each other's stadium attendence). In Tech's eyes, they have a lot to lose if they stumble against them. ULM doesn't seem to mind - they played Grambling a couple of years ago.

Tech will play Grambling in S'port to start '10.

So he doesn't schedule ULM because it wouldn't help his ranking?? But hey, lets schedule 1-AA Nicholls from the other end of the state.....that should get those rankings up...
And if we get beat there won't be anybody in the stadium to see it......

Financially it is better for us to pay for a 1AA every year and keep the gate every year, than to do a home-and-home with ULM and lose the gate when we are away. ULM can take the same deal that we are offering to the 1AA, but they are not in a bad enough position to take that deal. We would rather do home-and-homes with Navy, Army, S. Miss, and Houston.

Just remember this everybody: IF we kick major butt in Oxford this Saturday, nobody - and I mean nobody - will be able to get away with anything resembling a 'fire Miles' thread. I'm as fed up with the caliber of play as anybody. I'm a two-sport season-ticket holder and a Travlin' Tiger so I back up my gripes with my wallet, which is more than I say for a lot of the shallow folks on here these last few weeks. IF we're going to go for Les' head, let's wait and see if he blows the next two games. IF he does, I'll be screaming for change as loud as the next ranter.

I think Dooley has done a good job at Tech, especially considering all he's had to deal with this year. But is he head coach at LSU material? Not even close yet. Besides, he's the AD at Tech and he's not leaving that job anytime soon.

The thought of Dooley as LSU's coach crossed my mind during the game against La. Tech, and I'm not one of the LSU fans that want Les run out of town. I just got the felling that Derek Dooley really wanted to beat LSU not because of any animosity towards the Tigers but because that is where he wants to be coaching. And yes I know who wouldn't choose LSU over La. Tech if given a choice.

As much as i hate all the posts about LM should leave and who would you prefer as a coach, I wouldn't mind seeing that if or when LM takes a job elsewhere.

frick YOU ASSHOLES! Bring back Curley Hallman. IF you asswipes manage to get Les out of here based on this bullshite, I hope LSU football sinks to the bottom of the SEC for 3 years so you asswipes can revel in your shite.
