Actually you need to review the game again.... We ATTEMPTED to throw many passes downfield.... However the receivers were covered or when they were open the QB was under attack.

The AL field goal just before half and to start the 3rd quarter hurt.....

At 9-0 we were still just 1 big play from being right back in it.... JJ made mistakes, receivers dropped balls, OL missed blocks, we had costly penalties at bad times, and Alabama executed very well on 3rd downs.... Moving the chains and frustrating our defense.....they also completed 4or so passes 20 YDs+ typically on 1st down.

We got seriously outplayed by their defense.... But despite that we were really still in the game in the 3rd quarter... A.d with 1 big break would have been in the 4th.

Am I the only one that while watching the game, Alabama's offense looked much like our's did the first 8 games of the season

this, and we have a pretty damn good D as did Bama that night. Leaving JJ in the hemorrhagng continued and the morale was lost

How many times did they run the option to the short side of the field? I saw it a couple of times. This play needs to be thrown out of the playbook!

setting up the deep route is not a single play strategy- actually watch lots of games and you will see that

All we had to do was the same thing Saban did, what we did the rest of the season- loosen up the d and then hit the deep route

The one constant in this debacle is this: JJ was in at QB. As you said, "JJ made mistakes" (as a result) "receivers dropped balls" (and led to) "OL missed blocks... costly penalties at bad times." I won't even talk about CLM's untimely time-out that killed a JJ first down. With a bit more of inspired leadership or just a different approach with a different QB, Bama's offense may not have had the ball as long or often to score as much. Plus maybe LSU's offense might have found itself soon enough to remember who #1 really is/was going into that game. And yet, the futility of it all... these hypotheticals do not change the game's outcome.

Both Lee and Mett have much quicker releases than Jefferson. So to answer your question: yes. That's what was needed Monday night.

yes...he could have tried to air it out...obviously the running game was not working. How many passes did we throw down field? Two? Ridiculous.

thank you.

we should have been in 2 minute no-huddle offense probably as soon as late 3rd quarter. time was prime and there were no guarantees we could stop bama. we needed multiple scores and quickly at that. but no, miles let JJ check out of passes and run the ball eating 30 seconds off the clock per play. LUDICROUS!

please sir. NO FACTS ALLOWED! some here cannot handle the truth of our coaching and game plan that game. they will then twist it and say you hate our SEC title this year and our record, etc.

"attempted" means thrown...I don't believe we threw the ball more than twice past 15 yards. Jefferson was 11-17 for 53 yards. The longest reception was 19 to Beckham. The second longest reception was 8 yards.

Of the six incompletions, one was an interception. The other was the deep pass over the middle that was incomplete in the 4th quarter.

So, what were the other four incompletions?

it is too bad you could not see he holds it too long LETTING the rush get to him at times when he has open receivers. it is too bad you think miles did a great job leaving him in.

exactly. hell, even Lee would have at LEAST gotten some "chuck and ducks" in there worst case scenario. You do not leave bullets in your gun in a firefight. you go down shooting. Miles did not do this. some are blind here apparently and cannot grasp this concept.

He had three options.
1. Run up the middle
2. Option
3. Bubble screen.

None if them worked.

No, we didn't. Unless your definition of many is different from mine. JJ should have been out of the pocket looking downfield. The game planning was poor.

Hey I agree in theory, you are correct. But JJ could never do that, he was a one receiver guy, probably chosn before they broke huddle and if he was not available then he either went down or ran.

JL was the guy who could read defenses and make a choice between receivers 1, 2 & 3, never never JJ
