Are we talking about production or performance? Word I was responding to was "performance" - sometimes they go together (e.g. Faulk's AP clinic against Houston).
LF7 rushed 19 times for 228, and 3 TDs. Diesel went 27-232-2.
Faulk's 346 all purpose against Houston remains the most impressive "all purpose" performance by and LSU player (probably by an SEC player - would likely be GOAT NCAA performance if it was against a better opponent than Houston in those days).
Production or performance Cecil collins auburn game,IMO, isnt one of the best as a lsu rb.
Ace,Cecil Collins was a beast, but imo he is the most overhyped lsu player ever. Can you think of any lsu player that had less than 600 yards of career stats and is considered by some to be an alltime great?
Jeremy Hill set the sec single season ypc record and you have lsu fans that put cecil collins ahead of him as an all time lsu rbs.

Coach O almost shite his paints when this guy wanted a pic with him...
Diesel > Faulk > LF7
Diesel > Faulk > LF7

We had just had back to back 10 win seasons.
Also us being scrubs doesnt change the fact that he ran against scrubs

Thanks. Everyone now knows that your opinion on cfb is null and void.
Lf as a frehsman in HS was bigger than Diesel.

That's all true, but Jeremy Hill (much like Dalton Hillard, Spencer Ware and even Alfred Blue) was one of those throwback, lunch pail guys. Yeah, he had the occasional highlight run and he was efficient, but he lots of 8 to 15 yard breaks up the middle - you're right with perception and so forth, but going back 40 years, Alexander, Faulk, Collins and Fournette were "gaudy" racking up lots of highlight-reel runs, and often had clusters of them in memorable games. Our fans tend to dismiss recent players (excluding Mathieu, Fournette and, to a lesser degree, Peterson and Dorsey) - and have more nostalgia - that nostalgia is going to favor highlight players versus blue collar players, IMHO.

I tackled him in high school. Now, when I say tackled him I mean he tripped after putting a knee in my chest, and his foot got snagged in my facemask.
Still counts.
Still counts.

Here's my opinion. I saw Dunn, Kevin Faulk, Ford, Hill, Collins, and Fournette all play in HS. None dominated their competition in HS better than Slash running the ball. If I had to rank them, I'd say Fournette, Diesel, Dunn ( you would had to have been at the Pit to watch him against St Amant and Jason Williams), Faulk, Hill and Ford. Dalton Hilliard is my favorite LSU back because he never said a word and simply shrugged his shoulder and jogged back to the huddle. Dude had thighs like trees. Great back.

Collins was universally accepted as a stud. You're the only person I've ever seen that felt he was overrated. I'll take the opinion of people paid to evaluate over yours

Ha ha.
I said he was a beast. My god.
I said he is overhyped as somehow on of the greats.
Reading comprehension is your friend.

he started either his rookie or 2nd year in the NFL which is pretty impressive. 3.2 ypc is misleading considering how bad dolphins were.
scrubs or not he ran like a man amongst boys. beast

You sure about that?
ETA: I ask because I'm pretty sure Collins was in prison during that time. I'm just going off of memory so I apologize if I'm wrong.

I don't know how old Cecil Collins is, but he looks really young.

So LSU is letting a convicted felon around their football program?

I'd kind of prefer that he weren't around the program.
This guy was a habitual sex offender. I recognize he did his time and wish him the best. But, I don't want him around.
Pretty much how I feel.
Good back but in hind sight he is overhyped and yes I saw every carry he had at LSU. A potential great player, but not what history paints him as.

Idiot - his NFL season was 1999. Jimmy Johnson was his coach/GM
