Scoring runs affect pitching. Making errors or failing to make plays affect pitching. Defense and lack of run production inflates pitch counts and era. This is non-debatable.

Winning titles and losing as many players as they have to the draft, while the portal timing absolutely played a part with the construction of this roster. Johnson couldn’t money grab because LSU didn’t put up last season and he didn’t have the time to chase players while he chased another title.
This is why the portal window needs to be once in December. That’s it.

Johnson isn’t saying a word about MLB if he wasn’t disappointed in the current state of projects and recruiting as he should. If we were the premier baseball program, our stadium wouldn’t be basically as cheap as Skip built it and we still haven’t done what we could to make the fan experience better.
Then there’s the beating people on player acquisition like it or not.
Johnson is always calculating the gravity of what he is saying and is very intentional about the message to get movement. He is an artist at that skill.
