I think Tolliver, Randal, Shepard could be a more explosive set of recievers than Davis, Bowe, and Doucet but perhaps not as pure and polished of recievers. All 3 have the potiential to be first round picks. Add in DeAngelo Peterson at TE and you have quite a dynamic group any of whom could go the distance on any play.

They all have potential, but have to prove themselves on the field. I still don't think they top the other trio being mentioned, but in time, they all may be very productive.

I do miss seeing that run as well.
we still run it a bunch, just not as effectively (think end of the bowl, or Lee's pick 6 in the spring game). both Jimbo and Crowton love to go to that play, so much so that I think teams could tell it was coming by formation or personnel. in 08 if #28 got in and we were in the gun, you knew what was coming. I started calling it "RJ Jackson" in his honor.

Randle has the potential to be the next great certainly. Shep should be great as well. I love our WR core this season and if we can smooth out the QB play then we should be a serious threat.

I like them better the following year actually. I know Toliver will be gone, but I think Randle and more so Shepard need another year to be approaching that level. Would need a 3rd WR to step up but I think at least one of the guys from this years recruiting class or Jarvis Landry would be pretty solid by then. Bowe, Davis, and Doucet was just a freaking awesome group.
And so help me God if we don't have solid QB play by then with two seniors.

It's pretty hard to compare with that trio. Bowe was the most physical receiver I've ever seen play at LSU even more than Michael Clayton, iMO. Doucet was probably the most clutch WR, maybe even more than Josh Reed. Craig Davis was a YAC monster, consistently putting up big numbers. But potentially with good QB play and good play-calling I would say...
Bowe>Toliver
Doucet<Randle
Davis<Shepard
Bowe>Toliver
Doucet<Randle
Davis<Shepard

tough to beat three current NFL players. that triple threat was deadly, especially with jamarcus puttin the ball deep all the time
doubt these kids will be better but ya never know, they seem like that have the talent to all be pretty great, id say it will come down mostly to the qb's ability to get them the ball

could be as good as bowe, doucet and buster davis?
Jamarcus Russell >>> JJ/JL so it's not really a fair question.

Those three could be all american type players. Not sure it will gel this year, but by late season these three should be starting the road to Tiger immortality. They have the potential to be that good.
