If he is good enough for Kiffin, he is good enough for me.

Not sure why people want this guy. He couldn’t take the job back from a D2 guy and his year.
I honestly don’t know if it’s a good analogy or not, but just saying, Joey Burrow?

You don't have a point. When you are injured and the next guy up performs at a Heisman level that is no bad mark on the injured player.
Yes I do have a point, you’re just not seeing it. If he wouldn’t have gotten hurt, they likely wouldn’t be 11-1. Can’t say because it didn’t happen. But the better guy came in due to injury, and he kept playing because he’s better. This is a Drew Bledsoe / Tom Brady type scenario. I dont want to settle for Drew Bledsoe (Austin Simmons) Although he might win us some games, he won’t win us championships

How mobile is he? I don't know if I could do 2-3 more years with a dude who can't move

Nuss was a 4th year guy, Simmons is a 2nd year guy that only got 2 starts before getting injured. Very different situation.
This is true. And Simmons might end up being great. But so far, he has really done anything to warrant much hype.

He is good but does require good oline play

I heard that Ole Miss had 6 QBs on their roster. Not sure how many are scholarship guys, but that tells me Lane likes to have options and see them compete and who comes out on top. Also, he likes to have a backup plan or 2 so that an injury doesn’t derail the entire season.
That’s most schools, obviously, but I think he’d prefer less gap between 1 and 2, and we’ll probably see that in how he handles the portal. May prefer an 8 and 7 to a 9 and a 6, for a crude example. Maybe not, maybe that was more due to a limitation at Ole Miss that he doesn’t expect at LSU. But I just wouldn’t be surprised if doesn’t go all out to get THE top guy or 2 in the portal.

He threw 5 picks against bad competition. No thanks
