The Rule states "College players, from four-year colleges who have either completed their junior or senior years or are at least 21 years old"
that rule isn't worded right
quote:
he was born July 13, 1988 the draft is June 9-11, so he will not be 21 in time to qualify for the draft. So I am correct
No, you arent. I'm not sure how long after the draft, but I think if you turn 21 up till about 3 months after the draft, you can go.

Any chance Dean returns? Isnt he a junior? You would have to think he could improve his stock next year.

It seems that he'd have to have a really great year next year, like hitting over .370 to improve his stock, if he stays on his current pace. Because he'll lose all leverage in the draft next year. He seems to be in that kind of floater range. Some stay and some go drafted around that area. Depends on how much he would get offered, and how much he loves LSU.

I gotcha. Understand about the leverage deal now. Sorry for the ignorance.

the management and i have an understanding.
ah ok, so its just some weird wording in the rule. thought it was like football, 3 years of college if you choose to go

IMO, that's the way it should be, pretty cut and dry

Nothing about the NCAA regulations make sense. No reason to make this rule cut and dry.

quote:No you're not dude. Starting the day after the draft is complete(June 12th), if a players birthday falls within 45 days after the draft, he is eligible. DJ falls in that category, Micah Gibbs falls on day 46, so he misses out by 1 day.

How on earth did they come up with 45 days?

Yes sir! I sure hope Coleman hasnt hurt his arm with all the pitches he has thrown at LSU. He has been a great asset to the program and I really hope he enjoys success at the next level.

I know a kid that left SLU and is now pitching in the Angels organization. They still have him on a very strict pitch count, they say he was over used in college. From what I remember, it didnt seem like he threw near as much as LC.

Coleman was really not overused until this year. And really he was only overused that one week this year. Other than that, he is only throwing once a week.
