there were no boo's, i was at the bottom and heard nothing but cheers... and we got pretty loud, it just didnt seem to matter. our defense could not stop anything. but i mean the offense would go three and out and put our defense in shitty positions so thats why they say its a team game. the only bad thing about the student section is the beach ball crap which happened at a very cruical point in the game. and some people leaving early. frat and soro.

Dumb student section!Okay I am a student at LSU, and I was in the student section yesterday. (one of the few that stayed the whole game) Anyway when they introduced Lee at the beginning of the game the whole section started booing him. I mean really, what positive could come out of this. He is a 19 year old freshman who is playing against the top defenses in the nation. His confidence is affected by things like this. I mean do you really think Lee isn't trying his best to win. Booing him will only make things worse. We need to support this kid right now, so that he can have a good career and help us win another championship.
If this is really true, welcome to the "Great Dumbing Down of America."

What was up with the damn beach ball war that broke out in the student section when Georgia was making a critical drive? The whole damn stadium quieted down and Georgia scored a few plays later.
Yeah, it's funny and all that, but the beach ball war reinforced my perception that this year's crowd that started unhitching the stadium in the third quarter (not just the student section) is not into the game as much as in years past.
Again, what game were you at? The stuent section got even more excited when the beach balls were broken out.

I sit on the West Side in the lower bowl and heard no such thing...

One of Jeff's pics taken while Georgia was driving (and would eventually score). Yeah, they're really fired up about the game...just look at how many are focused on the field!

I don't need a picture, I was there. The crowd was excited and focused that excitement on the game once the teams huddled up.

You are wrong. The beach balls took 90% of all the student section out of the game. It was right at the beginning of the second half. The beach balls have no place in Tiger Stadium. At least the wave did not break out. That is a sure way to get half the people out of the game.

+1 which is why I hate them...
And the greek bashing shite it pretty stupid. I'm not greek, but most of the group I sit with (30+) are and not one of us left early..

arent you special. I'm just a little freshmen at the bottom of the food chain but guess what, i sat out in front of the student section with 2 of my friends from 11pm till the gates opened. cause i heard LSU student were hardcore. i heard they got there early. i was very disappointed to see we were the only 3 fanatics out there. the student section as a whole did not boo Lee. we didnt cheer him either. that needs to change. we might not be going to another national championship, but who cares, we get to see LSU football for the next 4 weeks, show up early, stay late!

Please, the SS was about 90% full with an hour till kickoff.
Compare that with other SS in the SEC and you'll be pleasantly surprised that only Auburn, Bama, and UGA are remotely close to that...
UF's students don't show up until about 15 min before gametime...

The student section was shite this weekend. I hate to break it some of yall. there is absolutely NO intensity for our team this year and it really pisses me off. I sat at the top of the SS with my friends this game, and we were screaming our asses off when we were on defense, and for about 20 rows in front of us, NO ONE was standing up. A bunch of girls were sitting down texting people, and guys were just sitting there with them. When we made some big plays, me and my friends would go NUTS, and some dude had the fricking balls to turn around and tell me to "Chill out". Lets just say that didnt go well. Frankly, Im embarrassed at how our SS acted on national television this weekend. Im sick of these people that tell me and my friends to chill out when im doing exactly what they should be. I can only pray for a student section like there was at some of those games last year. That Florida and Auburn game will be with me forever, and I dont know if im holding too high of standards for the newer members of LSU's student section, but I am VERY SCARED that there wont be another atmosphere like that in TS at the rate of decline that the SS is currently in...

Summary: 1) The Greeks overall are pretty worthless when it comes to crowd noise. 2) The student section once you round out the curve and get to the jumbotron area blows donkey balls.
I can't argue with these basic heuristics of the student section.

I never understood why fans boo players. I will never blame a college kid who is out there trying his hardest. I will however blame a paid coach who should be making the right calls..

the top of the student section always sucks. thats why i get there b4 gates open, to sit with the passionate fans.

Ehh, maybe the sober ones... The drunk ones like to scream shite, but nothing related to football... Oh well, the more noise the better...

its weaker than it was in the past but is still overall one of the best in the nation.
Winning spoils it....you lose an edge. I'm not nearly as intense as I was last year (and that was still no pre 2003 level); losing games brings you back down to earth and makes you hungrier. Everyone needs to remember what Sat was like 9and if you were in the Swamp that too) and get that bitter taste in your mouth before we play Saban. The once Saban and SSU people start showing up, bring the intensity and bitterness to them.....
