Not every great coach is a schematic genius. You realize that right? The man has been successful at LSU. That’s not up for debate.
The fans loved the idea of hiring Canada (also that was more Alleva than O.) Orgeron wanted Kiffen and Alleva didn’t wanna pay him what he wanted. That ain’t a rumor either. It’s a fact. The fans (including Moscona the biggest Ed O hater alive) LOVED the Pelini hire at the time it happened.

Really doesn't help that "family man" recruiting mantra he has going on when there are pictures of you with the Hammond Hoe all across the internet.

Welcome to the 21st century. Everything gets leaked. Everyone has seen everyone’s nudes. It sucks but it is. Should he be more careful? I guess but most recruits dgaf about stuff like that.

I can buy losing half the team to the NFL but the Covid excuse is just silly. In fact it makes your argument worse because it would suggest that he handled that type of adversity worse than other programs.

Considering both happened AT THE SAME TIME, yeah it was a little different for us compared to other schools. Considering how we ended the season with less than 50 active scholarship players, I’d say it’s impressive we ended how we did.

Completely agree, O had total clout and control coming off the best season in LSU and CFB history.
I’m sure Woody was ok with Pelini but to suggest it was mandated when O was at his peak of capital clout is absurd and doesn’t pass any smell test. It reaks of Ponamsky spin, and if you think about it deeper makes O look weak and not in control of his staff hires.
