i completely agree with this. we don't know the facts though. for all we know elliot porter was the 10th guy to get asked because muncie and dj welter said no.

How about you don't go to the football games if the coaches decisions piss you off so much, that you're talking shite about the mans wife. Seriously, you're a fricking joke

Can we get a full list of the players that Les has Barry Valcined in one way or another before they took one class at LSU?
Barry Valcin
Henry Orelus
Dextor Blackmon
Houston Bates
Elliot Porter
the slow MLB from Florida
etc

basically, athletes who enroll early can't backcount to previous classes if that year the school was over the 85 limit the year before.
so even with our total scholarship number being at 82 this year.. Porter is out of luck because of last year. pretty screwed up over a useless rule.

You were probably one of the whiny fricks who cried for days that we even offered him a scholarship.

He's lost more than that. If the dude tripped and fell into a lady the fricking retards here would accuse him of attempting to rape her.

So if they're shitty its ok to string them along then cut them? They never should have offered Blackmon or Houston Bates. No non-retarded coach would have offered either to play at LSU. But its really a great way to conduct business to just throw out a shite ton of offers and if you realize later that they're scrubs just tell them they'll have to greyshirt or GTFO. It really helps things when you have to go back into the same high school the next year to recruit an actual good player like Mickey Johnson, dont you think?

b/c that's the same thing as this instance when everything is pretty much spelled out. He failed to let the kids know greyshirt was a possibility up until the last poss. moment, leaving the kid blindsided and sent packing for the semester.

I've yet to see anyone say they want Miles to win if it means a dirty renegade program. Comparing Porter to RP, Giddens, et al is ridiculous. There's a middle ground.
didn't compare them. les didn't get rid of porter.

again, glossing over the crux of the problem. It's not that he had to give out a grey shirt, it's the timing and way it was handed down.
i'm not making up my mind on a situation i don't have all the information on.
i'm talking about the fan who wants the clean program and the fan that wants to win at all cost. one of them will be upset.
it doesn't matter how or what he does, someone, some where, will be pissed. maximus, egg, you, me, choctaw ect.
how many threads are created about what the man does right? not very many. people dwell on the negative and ignore the positive.

I'm not the LSU coach. Its ok for me to want shitty players cut. I dont know how that changes the fact that Miles handled this situation as shitty as possible and that he may have lost Mickey Johnson because he can't decide whether we need 220lb white DEs in the SEC or not. Please explain, Ryan's fan.

You and the anti Miles posse are basically saying hes the biggest piece of shite on this planet for doing what he did..but you're calling for it. When it happens, it pisses you off..when in actuality, it doesn't. It just gives you something to throw at him.

Who the hell is Ryan?

So is it cool for Les to do or not and does this help or hurt future recruiting?
Ryan is Ryan Condon, your hero.

No, the timing sucked, and by having everyone qualify(which hardly happens) Miles had to piss someone off.. but it happens..at every school. This whole discussion isn't about if Miles was right or wrong, its that no matter what he does, you're going to ridicule him for it.

no, i don't believe and do know lsu/the coaches aren't saints. i don't believe they are the lucifer either.
just like most of us, we try to do more good than we do bad. however, we aren't immune to making bad decisions/choices.
no, i don't have a problem with THIS situation. I'm a lsu fan. I want the program to succeed. if this were my son, i wouldn't have a problem with it. it would be his and my desire to stick with lsu. it's what you do with the opportunity not how you got it, that matters. this is what i tell my own two sons. don't sweat the things you can't control. only the ones you can.
i've been around where we couldn't get players to come here. now, we have them standing in line. we are having to offer grey shirts to quality players. that's a good problem not a bad one.
