OU is better than both LSU and Bama. Offense, because OU's offense is better than both LSU and Bama.

Even if that mattered, it's not true. OU scored about 34 offensive points against Texas. Texas is pure, unadulterated dog shite, just like everybody else OU has played.

Look, it will all be settled on the field.

This is guy who, in 2006, stated emphatically that "clearly Ohio St and Michigan are the two best teams in college football.". Both were savagely beaten, humiliated and skull dragged in their bowl games.

Stoops and OU annually put up huge numbers during the season. It's the Stoops way, lots of sizzle, tiny steak!

How many offenses have Bama and LSU played which are as good as OU's? Aside from UO's, I don't think either Bama or LSU has faced a very good offense

FAIL

LSU has faced both Oregon (Top 5 in Rushing) & West Vagina (Top 5 in Passing). Oregon avgs 312 yds/game rushing & WVU avgs 380 yds/game passing. OBTW, FLA & MSU are in the top 40 rushing as well.

OU would put more than 19 on MSU. See how it works both ways.

Based on what? Running up the score on junior high teams? Scoring a lot on Texas? Putting up 23 against a team that just gave up 35 in back to back weeks in losses to Clemson and Wake Forest?

OU 2011 = OU 2003. Weak, beating up on patsies, overrated as hell, and destined for a beatdown in New Orleans by an SEC team, hopefully LSU.

OU runs up the score whenever they can, so yes, they'd probably have opened the offense up full-throttle to put up as many points as they could. We were content to stay plain vanilla and win with defense. We could put up as many points on MSU as they could.

Based on watching them play and forming an opinion on the quality of skill players they put onto the field.

That's what stoops wants people to think. How many times has LSU just ran the ball to let the clock run, when they could have just kept trying to run up the score?

Sat, Sep 3 Tulsa W 47-14
Sat, Sep 17 5)Florida State W 23-13
Sat, Sep 24 Missouri W 38-28
Sat, Oct 1 Ball State W 62-6
Sat, Oct 8 t (11) Texas W 55-17

it's not a bad resume, for what they have to work with. we'll see how it ends. who cares if they are 1st or 4th, it's what happens November 5, that counts!

LSU and Bama can both dominate any offense that doesn't have balance. OU is more balanced than any of those teams.

Nah. OU can't run the ball and that is a recipe for total disaster when you play an elite SEC defense.

Yep, and the same thing will happen to this Oklahoma team when they face either LSU or Alabama.

WVU couldnt run the ball and they got 550 on an elite SEC defense. Look I think we are one of the top 3 teams in the country, but to say that we are head and shoulders better than OU is crazy IMO.

And just look at how close that game was.

You're proving my point.

I wouldn't say head and shoulders. Please don't think that I believe that, but years past have shown that a Big 12 team that looked unbeatable during the regular season was VERY beatable once they played an elite SEC defense.

If your saying that this leads to turnovers and mistakes then yes i agree 100% with you. This is why I think we would beat OU. All I'm saying is that disaster is a bit of a strong word.

I wasn’t really addressing you with this to be honest. More the OP and a few others in this thread. For someone to be offended that Kirk had to nerve to form an opinion that OU is the best team in the country is pretty ridiculous.

1. Not everyone is always going to have the same opinion as you. That's OK.

2. You have to take everything the TV guys says with a grain of salt because they are in it for the ratings.

He isn't trying to really make the case of OU over Bama or LSU.

The winner of Bama/LSU will be #1.
It seems like he's trying to make the case for OU over everyone else: Stanford, Wisconsin, Clemson, etc.

He has said this since last week and now that they beat the shite out of a weak Texas team he has really jumped on the bandwagon. Screw Herbie!
