Glad he's history as well. I was done after the Ole Miss game.

Hey Brian, it doesn't excuse all of your shitty assistant coaching hires. The entire defensive staff under House was horse crap and that's an insult to horse crap.
The offensive staff after Denbrock was also buffalo dung. Sloan, Wilson, Davis, Hankton were inept.
That all falls on you Brian. You're lazy, arrogant and a fraud. Your rotator cuff had nothing to do with your failures in every other aspect of being the head coach at LSU.
Jay can do what he wants. He has won two of the past three national titles.

He probably doesn't need any advice from folks on the Rant.

How can that be true? His base salary was $400,000 per year paid by LSU, from public funds. Most of Kelly's supplemental pay comes from the Tiger Athletic Foundation (TAF), which is funded by donations and self-generated revenue from LSU athletics.

If you haven't watched basketball since Will Wade was fired maybe you aren't an LSU basketball fan.

This!!

People have made Will Wade a martyr and put their fanboy love of the guy above their support for LSU. That's not to say they don't still love LSU, it just means their loyalty has gone awry. That and they're living in the past. What is done can't be undone. The last 3 seasons are dead and this one is DOA.

That said, the McMahon experiment should end this year. He didn't seem like a bad hire on paper and many thought we were going to struggle to find a good candidate with the uncertainty possible sanctions on the program and fallout from Wade's departure.

McNeese took a small chance with Wade. It was a no lose for them. They're fricken McNeese but NC State good an even bigger chance on Wade. Is he going to reward them with a "one and done"? If he does, he'll be what Kiffin was to Tennessee in 2009.

If he does return, I'm sure he'll breathe some desperately need fire into the program.

It has nothing to do with any of that. It’s about one thing, they thought anyone could do what he was doing and they anointed McMahon before they’d ever seen a game of his.

Now you're just making shite up.

Whether McMahon is retained or cut loose, no one on this board knows jack squat. It will come down to the wishes and will of the donors. Thankfully the buyout is not one huge hit but you have all the assistants to buyout as well. Now, it's not just the cost of the new staff but significant NIL dollars as well.
That' just part A. You still have to find a new coach and give him a sweet deal, budget for an elite staff in addition to the forementioned NIL funds. The PMAC is being replaced or renovated anytime soon. How attractive is the LSU job?
I'm sure LSU will pursue Wade but what can they offer than NC State can't.
I don't care how much Wade is grateful to Rousse or how close they are, Rousse can't print money. He can't shite a new arena or facilities. I think Wade is a smart guy so I would think he knows that you can't look back.
The SEC is not the same conference it was during his tenure. It's much stronger. Conversely, the ACC is not the greatest hoops conference in NCAA any longer.

Why do we know this? Wade never said LSU was his dream job.

Rouse maybe but Landry has nothing to do with it.

Further proof that Sankey is a fraud

I didn't need any more proof. The media contract; the delay in the scheduling decisions; his temperament; presentation. If that fricker ever smiles his face will crack.

Petitti consistently makes Sankey look like a rube.

Care to post that CFB record this decade?

Not much different than Texas

55-23
47-29

It’s a low bar but who knows after 3 games of being a caretaker of a team built and honed by another coach.

Seriously dude?
Sure, it was just coincidence that Ole Miss started winning when Kiffin took over. In the six years prior to Lane Ole Miss was 40-35, a sterling 0.533 winning percentage. In Lane's six years you went 54-19 for 0.740, and that's even after his 5-5 inaugural season, inheriting a shite show from Matt Luke.
Oh yeah, four 10 win seasons in 6 years when the Runts had only three 10 win season in the prior 60 years.
You're pathetic.
Keep smoking the copium.
What kind of quality assistants are going to come here to work under a lame duck, dead-man-walking scenario head coach? Just more payouts to another (new) group of assistants when McMahon is canned.

If you suck, it starts at the top. If you're not going to fire him don't double down on a new group of coaches.

I hate Jeremy Foley, former AD at Florida, but he had an often stated philosophy .. "what must be done eventually, must be done NOW!"

Also, payout is in installments so it's not a big hit immediately. It's really the cost of luring a quality coach and the NIL dollars. Unfortunately, no one was coming to a messy LSU situation with the possibility of scholarship penalties, etc after Wade without an iron clad financial guarantee.

Will 2026 LSU football be 2022 Texas A&M football?

Better question for a Rebel Runt like yourself:

Will Ole Miss return to 60 year tradition of striving for mediocrity now that Kiffin left. As for being familiar with 7-6 and 8-4, that was considered a great year for Ole Miss prior to Lane's arrival.

FYI, Golding was just a stand-in for the man who got you to the CFP.

Keep trolling dude. It's weak and screams insecurity over the "Bugger" Golding era.

Not playing Z Johnson after the first quarter needs to be questioned

Maybe Kim has lost a step. Maybe she's losing interest and is ready to retire, eat crawfish and drink beer.

This seems to be the most talented team she has had since her arrival and I thought they had a chance to be special. Regardless, I doubt that anyone beats UConn this year unless it's a fluke but I was certainly hoping for more.

We are no better than 4th in the SEC at this point.
It's a way of coping if you're a fan Mississippi State. It's the oldest form of self medication.
Nope..
They have a few more good players and, even if you find Staley annoying, she's a helluva coach. As for the mental conditioning, I think the SC players play with more control and focus and that, to at least some large measure, is due to Staley.

This is such an overused term.

Then again, most who use it have their heads up their asses or are angry because they somehow feel aggrieved.

That's nice.
Now lets do National Titles just in this century:
LSU 4 Tennessee 1

How about Football this century:
LSU 3 Tennessee 0

How about men's Final Four hoops this century:
LSU 1. Tennessee 0

I'll admit you've got us in women's hoops title this century 2-1 and, of course, all time.

You talk the talk but can't walk the walk.

Heupel's bra size is increasing faster than the Vol's significance in anything.
