doesn't anybody give Flynn credit for leading us to a Championship?...i don't care about stats....it's close but i'll take the guy that brought us the crystal ball....it's Matt Flynn

The 2007 team would have been undefeated with Russell at QB.

I agree.

JL has a bigger motor than either of those two, and just plays grittier IMO

Why? Because you no longer see two QBs being compared. You see a black guy and a white guy. And since that is all you see, anything anyone says about the two that you disagree with can only be the result of racism. It can't be because someone has a different view of rating QBs, or even because someone is clueless about football. It can only be racism in your mind because in your mind their race is all that matters. Nothing else is relevant.

If you call it idiocy when they're both the same race, but racism when they're not, then *you* are not seeing the people; but the color of their skin instead.

dude, that is the dumbest shite i've heard on here all day.

and there has been some dumb shite on here today.

I do not judge anyone on the color of their skin, you fricking king of the rantards.

Whatever you say, chief. I'm not the one making judgments on people's racial attitudes based on the skin color of a football player they happen to think is better than another one.

I get tired of people on here calling JaMarcus Russell dumb.

I get tired of people on here calling for Jarrett Lee to start, even though there is clearly a better QB on the team than him.

I get tired of people on here like tojo, who is at BEST incoherent and a racist:

quote:

"you are an idiot, you and doc are the ones that are probably on dope. Do you trade your food stamps for dope, or your welfare checks?" tojo

quote:

A lot of the offense wanted JJ to be the quarterback so they worked againsed Lee, trying to make him look bad. Especially one receiver....ForeLSU - link? or are you just inferring that black receivers always want the black QB to play so they intentionally screw up when the white one is playing....tojo -most of the time at LSU now. NO disicipline

quote:

tojo - What makes you think JJ is going to be superman. He will never be a Tebo or a Colt or Bradford. LSU will never win a NC with him.

You know as well as I do that he's said much MUCH worse on here, yet I get called out by you for being a racist?

are you fricking kidding me?

What kind of reasoning do you have to sit back and call ME a racist?

I mean, what the frick is that?

In spite of a Freshman, gee wiz!

Florida in '05?

Not JR's best, but he went 14/22 and had 2TD/2INT

quote:

Or Arkansas '05?

One of his worst games, but hey, he was a sophomore.

quote:

Or Tennessee '06?

24/36 with 3 second half TDs to break even against a top 10 team on the road? Okay.

Amazing that you need a three year span, and yet two of your examples are games that he did pretty well in.

Also, JR played better against UF as a Sophomore than Flynn did as a senior. Care to post his stats from that game?

Or South Carolina? Or Bama? Or Kentucky?

That's from one year BTW, and I never once stated JR had all good games, but LSU NEVER won a game in spite of Jamarcus Russell during his Jr. year.

No, ND was not impressive. I never said it was, and if someone wants to use that against JR, go ahead.

People don't get it. There is no statistical or logical reason for anyone to believe Flynn was a better QB at LSU than JR, but they find ways to think he is. There are a few reasons for this:

1. They are dumb
2. They are related to Flynn
3. They are Flynn
4. They like white people more than black people

Not necessarily racist all the time, but definite favortism for yo skin color dawg.

I haven't been trying to flame... hell I agree most physically freak QB LSU ever had was JR. I think think the NC will endear Flynn and Mauck to LSU fan base more than JR and what he accomplished.

I've met Matt Flynn and hung out with him before.

He's a really nice guy.

But how could anyone say that he was a better QB than JR?

yes, he helped win a BCS trophy.

the chips fell just right that year, and i'm glad they did.

Because you did not suggest that Tojo was a racist. You suggested that everyone who thought Flynn was better than Russell was racist. And everyone who thought Lee had a reasonable chance of winning the starting job (even people like me who consistently said we thought Jefferson was more likely to win it) were racist. You have yet to acknowledge that someone who thinks that Flynn was better than Russell might just have a different set of priorities than you in judging QBs, or might just not understand much about football, or might have anything going on in their head other than the fact that one is white and one is black. That view is a grievous disservice to both Flynn and Russell, because by doing so you reduce both of them to nothing more than their respective races. Again, if you think it's just stupid when both of them are white, why can't you believe that it's just stupid if one of them happens to be black?

funny part is, if the 2006 team would have got some better breaks that season, and JR brought home a trophy, and the 2007 team didn't (pitt not beating WVU) there would STILL be people saying flynn was a better QB.

Yup LSU honestly got lucky both NC's team's had to lose in front of us for us to be in game. LSU did not play their way into game by dominating everyone we needed chips to fall into place.

You can't really compare how they played in bowl game to that game. I mean Arkansas/LSU is sorta a half arse rivalry game. I mean they step up and for them that was their bowl game. They took more pride from winning that game than most.

LSU did lose 2 game they should not have, 06 Team had more NFL talent than 07 team but that my opinion, which we will see in next couple draft classes who had more.
