Every coach I've ever met in Louisiana from head coaches to OC's say Crowton is a genius

I actually believe this might be the case. It might be that he is too smart for his own good. Some of the worst college professors I had were the most intelligent, but they were so smart, they talked right over our heads. Terrible, terrible at imparting their knowledge to college age students, and I think that might be Crowton's biggest problem.

Gee, a thread knocking Crowton, Miles, and LSU. Who would have thunk it.

How original and with the same old naysayers.

You guys really need to get some new material. How bout some cheese to go with your whine?

first thing that comes to mind wheni think of GC is option to the short field with JL and plug in rb's name.

I'll expand on this. Running a short side option with Lee or Jefferson while Shepard sat on the bench and didn't run an option play once all year. (Well....Once against Arky that was stuffed thanks to a formation that completley gave away the play). Wouldn't common sense tell you to use the QB who is more of a dual threat to run those option plays?

Crowton may be a smart coach, but he does things that makes no sense whatsoever.

wrong, I just don't thikk you can compare one decade of great football to what some schools have been doing since the 20's, ya'll are bad guessers

From the 1958 season, through the 1973 season, LSU won 132 games.

LSU had great teams as far back as 1908 (arguably one of the best of the early era of CFB). Nice try, though.

Crowton and Miles have inspired dozens of loyalists who will fight to the bitter end. Their offensive genius is just not obvious to us peons. We don't have "it." We are incapable of seeing how stellar they really are.

What do you want me to say? The offense was abysmal in 2009, and not much better in 2008. Crowton has coordinated good offenses in the past. There is this trend of early success and then a dropoff. If he doesn't get it fixed in 2010, he's gone.

Success is measured by wins and championships, which LSU has not had near as many as the schools I listed yesterday, yes LSU had great teams but has not been an elite program for that long which is what this is all about, nice try though

From 1959 through 1974, Notre Dame won 112 games, 2 consensus championships and one Heisman winner. They were also 3-2 in Major Bowl appearances during that time.

LSU from 1958 through 1973 had 1 consensus championship and one Heisman winner (while winning 132 games). LSU was 6-3 in Major Bowl appearances during that time.

The original point was that you act and speak as though LSU has only been good since, coincidentally, November of 1999.

Nope this goes from Notre Dame of Crowley, to Destrehan, to Northshore in Houston.

I laugh at them too but what can you say to guys that have state title rings and say this?

when did I give this date? And why are you so hung up on 58-73, I said LSU has not done what other schools has since the 20's, and no matter how hard you look you won't find the numbers to prove me wrong in that aspect because they aren't there. As far as LSU being better then ND for those few years is great but still doesn't solidify LSU has a historically elite program
