hey there ya go! great memory! I was at that game (LSU student at the time.) Yeah rained like a mother. But we (at least the students) stayed, stood, and got drenched. Don't think LSU offense ever made it past midfield that game, and the one time Bama did, they kicked a FG which was the only pts. they needed. Great effort by the Tigers. Another rain game involving Bama was 1984 in Birmingham, it actually hailed at one point and was just a torrential downpour. Tigers 14-10.

1996 Miss. St. It rained the entire game so hard that I remember driving off campus through flood waters after the game. We won 28-20 in the early morning JP game.

MIami 1988. Horrible weather and game. Steve Walsh and co. had a field day on us. Broke me from going to games in the rain.

Yeah, ya right; Didn't Eric Martin drop a sure touchdown pass back of endzone late? How bizzare that year play two #1 teams @ home, lose both by 8 total!

No, EM wasn't even playing for LSU in '79.
It was an absolutely miserable game, rain-wise - plus, it was in November and pretty cold.
As far as the game itself, very hazy memories, but I don't think LSU even got into field goal range the entire night.
Totally different from the USC game, I assure you!

I recall a game with UF during daytime maybe 99 where rained cats and dogs we got drilled pretty bad by the Visor; Horrible day!

I was at the Alabama game in 79. My girlfriend (now my wife) sat with me the entire game. We work trash bags for rain ponchos. Any girl who'd do that is a keeper! The only game wetter, that I can recall, was the Oregon St. game in 04.

The only "rain games" I've been to were:
Vanderbilt in 1984(?), We won 34-27 and Dalton Hilliard put on a clinic.
South Carolina in 07. It only rained right before the game and during halftime. But I was wet until I got home at 11:30 that night.

Miami in 1988 and Florida State in 1991. Any others don't even compare.

Yeah, my bad; I do recall someone dropped a sure TD late and that was our only threat!
Yeah, definitely a different atmospere, was really miserable!
