During D D Breaux's tenure there have only been six schools which won national titles. While she dealt with inadequate funding and support from the university the schools which won gave gymnastics much higher priority and established themselves as the destination for the top gymnasts in the country.
This.
Plus, while it’s disappointing, most of all for the team itself but also for the fans, not to win it all, I don’t see how any fan can be unhappy with what they saw this year.
What do you expect out of these girls?
It was a joy to watch. Given that the scoring is somewhat subjective and we came very close to winning it, I can’t ask anything more from this sport.

The coaching staff got everything possible out of this team and came within a hair of finally winning the title. Myia Hambrick said it best: She left nothing in the tank on Saurday. Neither did the team on Saturday and all year long.
