LSU was 4-7 that year and you beat us by 1-pt. I hope you don't consider us to be that bad for 2008. You've lost 3 of the last 4 in Baton Rouge. Only win over that 4-7 team.

Good because we're not worried about UGA, no left tackle = 10 sacks

UGA 10 LSU 17 (UGA missed 5 field goals)

I need to check the archives, but I don't recall 5 missed field goals (maybe 2 or 3, NOT 2 + 3). LSU definitely missed 1 or 2 also. Now Auburn missed 5 (or was it really 6???) in 2005.

Tepper... you had to go there. That's pretty desperate. Every one in the house knows the play is going to Champ Bailey and it still happens. As previously stated, congrats on beating a 4-7 team by 1 point.

USC won't have the weapons to spread out the Buckeye defense like LSU did (can anyone name a USC WR?).

Patrick Turner, Ronald Johnson, and Videl Hazelton come to mind. Brice Butler is a true freshman that's coming in this year.

Joe McKnight is one of the most explosive guys in the entire country. He can play slot WR and they can put one of their many other RBs in the backfield.

USC arguably has THE BEST fullback in the country -- Stanley Havilli.

They have PLENTY of weapons.

It's comments like the one above that force me off the RANT. Texasags is the only board that is more ignorant

D-Dawg-

May I ask again, with that schedule, what is your prediction on the year without a LT. I think LSU will go 10-2 on the year and play for the SEC Title...I just think it is too much to ask of a Frosh to go on the road and win a game for us...of course, we "Could" run the table and are talented enough to do so, but all things would have to fall our way, like the the injuries I mentioned originally.

Florida is already weak on D and injuries are mounting. UGA thin on the OL and just got weaker. Auburn loses a starting S.

What say you?

Please forgive me. I do not know what I was thinking making you wait so long. Will you still be my friend? Hmm...we'll have a LT, won't be our original starter, but we'll do just fine. We'll make the adjustments needed to move forward. Not to undermine my teams own schedule, as brutal as it is on paper to this date, a lot of it will also depend on our opponnets living up to their hype as well. Everybody on this board, in this most UNBIASED setting, has bitched and moaned about my Dawgs being overrated. We could very well be, I don't know yet just like no one else on here knows yet. But using the same logic, our competition could be overrated as well, and who knows, maybe we'll prove to be the LEAST overrated of the two when matched up on game game.

quote:

LOL, no you're not. It's likely you won't have a single 2nd team OL member who's taken a college snap. Guess what, that means you're not deep. I live in Atlanta chump, every other month I see the update on how bad the outlook is on the OL for UGA in the AJC (straight from Richt's mouth). You are not deep. Having a bunch of 2nd teamers who have never played means you're NOT deep.

Wrong again dipshit. Yeah, living in Atlanta makes you almost as knowledgeable of the UGA situation as Richt himself. What a douchebag. Josh Davis, Kevin Perez, Micky White, ALL have taken snaps and are 2nd team OL you lying POS. It fairness, it's probably hard for you to follow the games since you're working every Saturday. Do me a favor, carry my trash can up a little further on my driveway next time.

quote:

Yes, you had three freshman starters last year. Trinton Sturdivant was one of them. Trinton Sturdivant will not be playing this year. You return 2 starters on the OL now.

We returned Sturdivant, he was just injured the other day. So therefore, he made THREE on the starting roster. We have at least 5 options now as to what to do at LT. That's a situation that most teams would kill to be in after suffering such a devastating loss. I was serious about my trash can. Bring it up a little further, ok?

quote:

not real worried about LSU .. oh and all the talk about UGA has such a "brutal schedule" ,and "can't go all the way" is great motivation for the team. Keep it up! They love it!

It pains these bandwagoners on here to know that most knowledgeable UGA fans aren't worried about the kittens this year, even in BR. For some reason they think you must fear them even though our D is going to give which ever of their QB's they throw to the slaughter the Colt Brennan experience.

Remind me again how close the LAST TWO meetings were again? I guess those are too painful of memories to care to conjure up, ehh?

A., he's not named the starter, UGA has plenty of options. B.., Mississippi cranks out more talent than LA, but still well behind Georgia.

Lynxcat-

I can't speak for the guy who wrote about USC, but I do believe USC has a ton of people that are inexperienced at several positions and even USC doesn not have the depth to oversome injuries.

And yes, they have had TONS of injuries the last few years. Clearly, USC will be loaded if ALL of their players stay healthy and perform to their hype...but ZERO of those WRs played last year in any meaningful game.

My point earlier, was that NONE of those WR were more heralded than Tolliver was I don't see you gushing all over him like you are Hazelton, etc.

I agree with you that it is ridiculous to say USC is not loaded with talented people, but I think it is just as ridiculous to say USC has the most talented skill people in the country...at this point in the season. Which is the point of my original post...let's see what happens over the next couple of weeks.

IMO

D Dawg-

Take your time in getting back to me, but you still didn't answer the question...I too think UGA will be very, very good with potential to be great. BUT, the schedule....what is your prediction for the UGA record this year?

I think LSU goes 10-2 and plays Tenn is the SECCG.

BTW, how is Dallas...lived there for 15 years.

Here's the thing that folks so often overlook. You must have a great offensive line to be a great team. It's not glamorous, but it is most definitely necessary.

If Georgia doesn't have a great offensive line this year, they will not win a championship.

Josh Davis is a good young lineman. I have no doubt that he'll have issues adjusting to being a starter (if he ends up the starter that is), but his rivals.com ranking is pretty damn meaningless. He had offers from UGA, Nebraska, Bama, and OM.

The lineup you are likely to see is:

LT - Kiante Tripp
LG - Vince Vance
C - Chris Davis
RG - Clint Boling
RT - Cordy Glenn/Josh Davis

Vance or Boling can also play Tackle..Davis started at Guard for much of last year and is being pushed at Center by Freshman Ben Jones.

It's a young line to be sure.

Georgia oline:

Lost their center and anchor Velasco. They will replace him with an underclassman. They lost their best tackle Adams. They will replace him with a converted DT. Now they lose their LT? They might be in trouble because they are looking at two guys with starting experience (but they are sophs) and 3 guys without. One has never played the position and one is going to be completely green trying to replace the LT.

One of those was Sturdivant, so that makes two now, genius.

Yes but those two guys were Velasco and Adams. Their replacements will not be as good.

Velasco was invaluable to Georgia last year, helping the line to gel as they grew up.

Now, they anchor is gone and one of the three guys who started last year is gone. The other tackle is gone, too, btw. I don't see how exactly you feel better about the Georgia oline than last year.
