If fear is the problem then we're screwed. I mean what do you expect against a Bama or even an Ole Miss. They are going to come for you.

If fear is the problem then why the frick did he ball out vs the Florida who has one of the best defenses in the SEC? Don't listen to these fricks.

I don't think it's fear. It may be a lack of confidence.

Harris had a streak of really good games before Bama that had everybody thinking we had our QB of the future.

Lack of confidence plus he got hurt vs Bama.

Kid hasn't played enough yet to be as good as he will be. Let up some.

Better opponents.

I hope you're right. He's really the key next year. How Harris goes is how LSU will go.

I've said it before on this board an I'll say it again, it's piss poor preparation by the coaches. I've never seen a more confused offense as a whole when it comes to a passing down. I'm talking pre-snap, confused looks to the sidelines, guys shuffling around like they don't know where to line up, more looks to the sidelines, repeat shuffle. It's like all they do in practice is rep after rep of handing the ball off and no passing plays get any sort of work. It's truly baffling....

So vivid and so true.

Couldn't hit the side of a barn vs Aggy. What happened?
he's getting old, and the game has passed him by.

The passing game is a soup sandwich. I have no idea what they do in practice.

The only answer to the OP's question is that Harris went backward when the offensive line caved in.
The offensive line was dominant against Florida, which was easily his best game. Granted, the second half of that game wasn't the most offensively proficient, we basically sat on the ball.
The offensive line against Bama shite the bed, and it destroyed their confidence. Brandon was rattled from being hit on passing downs, Leonard couldn't get going... That entire game and the two after it were completely botched by the offensive line.
They looked better as a run blocking unit against A&M, but the pass blocking was still bad. Even on the few downs that it was sufficient, Brandon was having 'Nam flashbacks and overshooting receivers.
If you can't rely on the protection of those assigned to do exactly that, it affects your play as a QB.

Season got harder

-The line started shitting the bed. They just didn't have enough depth.
-Poor playcalling. Look at games where there was consistency in the playcalling...he looked above average. People sometimes take the run/run/pass deal too far but it did play a factor quite a bit. There weren't too many times when the call caught viewers off guard. If fans can see it then I would be willing to bet the guy in the box making a million could.
-He wasn't put in a position to succeed. Kinda ties into the above point. There were plenty of missed opportunities but he was in a tight spot quite a bit.
Then, above all that, he just didn't look like a solid QB. Blame Les, Cam, or Harris himself, but he wasn't consistent. His throws were erratic. He struggled with completing short passes. His accuracy overall is pretty suspect, even before we hit the skid.
He has a cannon, can run when needed, and showed solid pocket awareness at time. He just needs to work on his accuracy and be more consistent.

there's a difference between being good against the pass and nobody passing on you because you make it too easy to run the ball.
5.8 yards per attempt (2nd in the conference) with one of the best pass rushers in the conference
It makes sense to run the ball on them, sure. It avoid a strength and attack a weakness. They were pretty decent against the pass.

How dare you criticize the coaching staff!!!! J/K I agree people here sometimes have a hard time believing that this is all about coaching. He has not done well because if you had a job that guaranteed you 15 million dollars if you were fired you would have problems getting motivated as well. It's human nature. He is content with 8-9 wins a year question is are we as fans and a program ok with that
