On tape, it wasn't as bad as it seemed in person. If he can't lower those throws, however, our receivers won't make it through the season.
Far from an expert here, but he is late on many throws. I don't see him "throw open" many receivers. It seems the receiver breaks open, but by the time the ball gets there the DB has often recovered.
That said, didn't see our receivers generate much daylight between themselves and the DB. Josh Reed had that knack. These guys don't.

That's a huge thing that we don't see him do. Chad Kelly threw an absolutely gorgeous TD in the first half against FSU where he threw on the inside of the LB before the WR even broke. Gives me a boner just thinking about it

The talking heads have been all over the place, but I though Trevor Mattich (sp?) made a good point yesterday. He essentially said Harris is lacking confidence and you can tell because he sees the correct decision, but then waits an extra second to affirm it is the correct decision before he executes, and when he does execute, he's guiding the ball there. He needs to have faith in the read and sling the damn thing.

Seems like most of his good throws were to dural. We have to involve more wr, Harris tries to force it to Malachi and he is high on 70% of his midrange throws.
That was an issue, but Dupre did him no favors. He needs to, or like Les says, they need to make sure he throws it to the guys that will catch it.

Harris looked good enough to get the job done, if he had a decent line to protect him.
Yep. 100%
There is no reason to put etling in, except for the last play/but. Which was bad.

Malone was absolutely abused on that final drive. How do we have no tackles on this team?
Posted on 9/7/16 at 9:54 pm to cforester821
Wooooow. that is so different than i remember.
He wasn't that bad. With the exception of the last one, which was all time bad
This makes me want to rewatch the whole game to figure out what did happen.
I'm guessing a lot of short runs. 3rds and longs. A couple turnovers. Sacks? I only remember one I think
Puts it that much more in the coach and off Harris

Our only tackle happens to be our only center as well.

The only 3 WR+ routes are in painfully obvious passing downs. We are throwing Harris to the wolves.
That is totally incorrect. We had at least 8 pass plays when I quit counting where we had at least 3 receivers in the route that were not "obvious passing situations". Many of those plays had 4 and 5 receivers. And guess what else? There were tons of tight ends and other players going across the middle. Fournette was out on a bunch of routes. I was really surprised to see so many multiple route plays. Hard to pick that up in live time.

Les should watch jimbo use dalvin as a decoy the entire first half. Ya know they focused on stopping cook all week. That's what a smart coach does

Dupre fricking killed Harris. He straight dropped like 2 of his first 3 passes, dropped a pass late and was soft AF on that jump ball at the end of the 1st half.
This^^^^^^

Harris is not the problem whatsoever, it's the inability of the coaching to get him easier, rhythm setting throws that is the problem...compare the throws Bart Houston was asked to make vs Harris, it's night and day. The drag to Dural and the quick throw to him were the only simple yet effective throws we even attempted

3 WRs as in 3 WR sets, not 3 routes total. We had 8 3WR passing plays. the first 5 were all on 3rd down. The last 3 were on the final drive to win (lose) the game.
Outside of the last drive with only 1 TO, we had 1 3WR set with less than 6 yards to go. Those are all obvious passing downs.

Harris and Fournette have a pretty good rapport it appears. He found him for what I believe was a 1st down on a little dump off angle route which was a nice progression.

The O-line sucked big time. If anyone can't see that, I can't help 'em.
Were passes dropped? Sure. (But I'll bet more than a few posters on this site might think twice before exposing their rib cages to clean hits from eager Safetys)
The game plan for the offense and subsequent sets and play calling did not fool anyone either.
So, was BH6 facing head winds beyond those the Wisc D was throwing at him? No doubt.
All that said, he could have been 20/20 with 300+ yds and yet his rattled, piss-poor decision on the last play would still relegate him to the status of underachiever for the game. There was really no excuse for him to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory like that.
He's had his chances and then some. If all he can produce after all this time is a screw-ball effort under pressure that results in a pass directly to the opposition in the penultimate moment, then he just ain't gonna make it, IMO.

I wasn't aware that any posters on here plan to play football in the NFL

1. This actually makes me feel a lot better about Harris
2. Dupre had a bad game, but I know he can and will make some of those catches in the future.
3. Dural is a fricking stud

Bottom line. Harris had his first three passes sail high! And his last pass he simply threw it to the defender instead of the WR!
Worse than Harris was the offensive scheme! Coaches on the offensive side of the ball are brain dead.

The offesive line play was by far the worst thing from that game. And it's not really even close. The last play/int, well...I don't even know what to say. Clapp just didn't even touch his guy.

After looking at all his throws, he actually looked like he improved for the most part. Dupre only got cited for 2 drops, but as a receiver myself, he should have had a good chance to catch 4 more passes. He definitely killed the passing game when they did get a pass off.
