If Dupre deserves criticism it should be for not trying to prevent the interception rather than for being too soft to catch the pass. He was at a disadvantage due to the poorly thrown ball.
was soft AF on that jump ball at the end of the 1st half.

Harris and Fournette have a pretty good rapport it appears. He found him for what I believe was a 1st down on a little dump off angle route which was a nice progression.
He hit him 3 diff times.
I had watched the game twice. I get people are emotional. But no one was stating any facts that actually happened in the game.
The coaches tried multiple things. Things we really didn't see last year.
This team will still have some wins in them.

Poor decision making and zero ability to run when pocket collapses.

Were passes dropped? Sure. (But I'll bet more than a few posters on this site might think twice before exposing their rib cages to clean hits from eager Safetys)
What a dumb statement

Prevent an interception? He had both hands on the ball and the ball brought in before giving it away
He needs to hold on to that ball

Amidst all the legitimate criticism you say this? As much as we are known as a running team, we should be running play action on almost every passing play. And the number of upvotes you got for this piece of idiocy shows how stupid most ranters are.

Boutte & Tehuma are a liability. Boutte should be on the bench and Tehuma should be playing Guard.

What a dumb statement
Best of all possible worlds says throw to their numbers, hit 'em in stride. Not really rocket science.

Harris looks good when given time. Pitiful Oline play

It happened in the first quarter of the first game of the season. Posters on here aren't competing with other great athletes with NFL aspirations.
If that's his mindset, he'll be a failure at the craft he wants to make it in.

And the best receivers adjust for the ball, go up with authority, and bring the ball down. Every throw isn't going to be put in the best place. Even Drew Brees requires his receivers to make difficult catches in traffic where they are going to get hit.

Where was the bad O-line play people keep talking about? Seemed to me he had plenty of time with a nice pocket to throw out of.
If you knew anything about what you were speaking of, you'd know how dumb you sounded....

Wow! Good post!
Dupre certainly left about five plays out there, but Harris sure made those plays difficult.
I can't understand why they didn't get their TEs to chip in the fourth quarter. At times we had two guys stacked on the left side, but neither one bothered TJ Watts on the way out to their routes.

Whoever our left tackle is absolutely was getting abused. Harris was running for his life after #63 was getting beat by one guy consistently.

Are we really comparing BH6 to Drew Brees and LSU receivers to "the best" players in the NFL now?
I'm surprised that one could even stomach watching that game, using that standard.

My takeaway was the O Line was terrible. Just so many missed assignments and letting free blitzers through. No way a QB could get in a rhythm when your first thought is "I gotta get this ball out as fast as possible" Harris missed a couple in the 1st half, but in the second he's running for his life.
Love that PA Drag across the middle with Dural. I remember the '13 Georgia game when they ran that same play 3 STRAIGHT times with Landry

No, that wasn't what I was doing at all actually. The point just flew over your head while you short armed it.

Somehow LSU has had receivers make large impacts their rookie seasons. Crazy, I know. LSU recruits NFL talent, especially at WR, and we should expect greatness.
Continue to make excuses for soft play and drops. The ball hits your hands, bring it in

I'm 100% confident that Dupre would tell you he needs to make those catches and Harris would tell you he has to be more accurate, and they'd both be right. The point is that Harris takes all the blame though, and the film clearly shows Dupre deserves some as well.
Both passes were under thrown because there is no practical way they could have been completed over the top with the safety. You can argue they shouldn't have been thrown at all, but one was the last play of the half and one was essentially a back shoulder throw that Dupre really needs to catch.
Other times Harris hit him in the ankles and made a poor throw on the run on a broken play to Dupre early in the game. It happens.
