You're either trying to be funny or you're a fricking moron.

The only valid point would be that DH has had experience in th CWS... but both are good players

He is not a stud, DJ is a stud. DJ has an unreal arm he is a major league infielder, Helenihi's arm is not that good.
Then why did PM play Helenihi in right field all year last season? Because he has a crappy arm?

Helenihi has a stronger arm than DJ probably does. DJ has a ridiculous glove, but also a slow release with just an above average arm

Just stating my opinion that DJ has a better arm, that is all. Didn't say Helenihi was garbage or anything just that his arm is not as good as DJ, IMO. But guess what I really don't give a frick as long as they keep winning, I am not an expert and don't claim to be.

its not really something that is up for debate. He got moved to 2nd for a reason
Posted on 6/8/09 at 10:46 am to TigerBait1127
but to say that Helenihi has the second best arm on the team is crazy. Hanover, Nola, Mahtook, Gibbs, all have better arms.

DJ couldn't make the throw from deep in the hole at short. Not last year, not this year. That's one of the reasons Nola took over at short for the second half of theseason.

DJ is actually projected as an outfielder at the next level.

I wouldn't be surprised if DJ played second base or first base at the next level.

the starting 3B job was is from day one this season and he let hanover take it from him .. helinihi wasn't hitting at the beginning of the season and was struggling a little defensively .. hanover was lights out until the mississippi state series when he fricked up that sure double play that would have ended the bottom of the ninth in the game we wound up losing a few batters later ... he really hasn't been the same since ... his error against baylor in the bottom of the 8th was huge and caused that game to go into extra innings .. also, and it wasn't his fault, but the throw that went over his head in the rundown on friday night would have prolly hit helinihi in the chest ... just good to see helinihi making the most of his chances because i think defensively, the late season pressure is starting to get to hanover ..

D.J. LeMahieu, second base: Louisiana State
- With a strong 6 foot 4 frame, the LSU second baseman/shortstop is pure projection at this point in a less than stellar sophomore year. LeMahieu began the year playing shortstop, but his range and arm strength were found severely lacking, forcing a move to second base. If his move off of shortstop wasn't bad enough, scouts are finding that he might not have the quickness or arm for second base, either. His footspeed is subpar, and his throwing motion does not lend itself well to turning double plays. That will limit his potential significantly in the future if forced to third base or the outfield, as LeMahieu has not been putting up the power numbers necessary for those positions. Scouts have commented that his swing has gotten too long, and in combination with his defensive woes, LeMahieu's draft stock has fallen well out of the 1st round. Any team that drafts him most likely believes his long frame will produce leverage in his swing, and that he will be serviceable at second base. There still remains the possibility that he might not sign if he falls beyond the third round.

Selfish, really an idiot, I see your an internet tough guy, I was just stating my opinion, and the opinion of other people in baseball.
I recall his scouting reports from earlier in the year were talking about how he translates to a 2B because he has a weak arm.
Just sayin... I'm not going to waste time digging up a link.

Helenihi transferred to LSU in 2007 with only two years of collegiate eligibility remaining, but with DJ LeMahieu winning the starting job at shortstop as a freshman and former Tiger Michael Hollander firmly entrenched at third base, he would have to move out of the infield altogether in order to receive considerable playing time as a junior.
The coaching staff thought he would be a good fit at right field because of his athleticism and cannon of an arm, and even though he had never played in the outfield before, the junior welcomed the move.
