Maybe not scared so much as tempering expectations with his base. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a coach compliment his upcoming opponent that much that wasn’t playing Saban.

i think you’re right he is scared. his body language and tone makes me think he feels this could potentially be a LSU blowout. If he coaches that uptight it will be a blowout.

Didn't just coach him. He was the only P5 coach that would give Burrow a chance. He actually did a very honorable thing for Burrow and he did the right thing... Too bad he recruited the guy into P5 football that would eventually take him down

I haven’t watched enough video of him talking to know, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s an act to try and lull us into being overconfident. Warfare 101 when you’re outmanned.

Guys, I think our mean, fast 240-250 LBs, K'Lavon Chaisson, Damond Clarke, Michael Divinity, et al are going to put Ehlinger on his back to where he's going to need help in getting up in the 2nd half after the multiple hits he's going to receive!!

Tom is always awkward with the press...It's kind of like he has a love/ hate relationship with them. I don't think he is comfortable at all ever doing interviews...I've seen him worse than this in other in other interviews
