Peyton Manning does funny tv commercials.

Your logo states, "just the tip". Does this mean you don't want to go all in as a fan?

I would like to see Mett start getting in the face of some receivers or o line when they have obvious screw-ups (missed blocks or dropped passes). Not to embarress them but to show wome leadership. I think it will benefit all in the end. He doesnt have to yell at them on national tv but this head down pouting bit is getting old. He is the QB at one of the best programs in the nation and needs to act like it. To quote the renaissance man himself (john L. Smith)...."get your piss hot!"""""

My tip has nothing to do with my fandom...

It's just a game I like to play

I assumed that there was a reason why AU's defense was ranked last/poorly in so many catagories, so I just assumed that their DL was not indicative of what we'll face from the big boys. Color me clueless, then.

This is either hyperbole or pure ignorance.

Mett has some weaknesses but this is pure drama.

There is much truth contained in these words. Are you an LSU fan?

Yeah born and raised as a Tiger fan. Baseball took me to Cajun Country, and now as a football coach myself I know that with a first year starter you put things on the guy slowly and as you give him more and more you may see peaks and valleys as he develops. Despite what everyone in Louisiana thinks, LSU has hired brilliant football people to run this program and their development of this kid is right where it should be. People who expect Mett to be a finished product right now are unrealistic. He's going to get better, but there will be lows as he develops. The good thing is that he will never be asked to win a game in this offense. He just has to be a great manager. LSU is not doomed for 2012.

People who annointed him the Mettsiah and predicted he would win the Heisman are now pissed because he isnt putting up Geno Smith type numbers. There was no way that this was going to happen and fans are mad that the purple and gold glasses are cracked. Unrealistic expectations are the trademark of LSU fans and this is another classic example. He is throwing for 200 yards a game in a multiple pro offense, has thrown only 2 picks, and is completing 65 percent of his passes (would be around 72 percent if not for a ton of drops). Hes a first year starter and you are getting first year starter results. LSU is 5-0 and struggling early isnt always a bad thing. You find out what works and what doesnt and know where to correct and it helps in future preperation.

Yeah, that's pretty much the gospel there. frick all yous other mamas boys.

I don't disagree with your post, but I would offer that it will be interesting to watch his development over the rest of the season and throughout next. If we're still having this conversation this time next year, then we've definitely got a problem. We've had enough highly talented QBs come into the program over the last several years that just haven't improved during their college years - it's a legit question to ask whether or not the staff is doing the right things to develop them IMO....

Why do people keep saying this. At this point in the season, jarett lee's improvement was all people were talking about. His stats were superior against better competition.

This notion is is flat out dumb.

But Mett has a better arm, and that's all there is to being a QB, so keep repeating the party line.

Does Mett have
the same OL?
a big time proven receiver like RR?

It is illogical to compare games in the same season let alone two different seasons against different teams.

I thought the intentional grounding penalties had left with JJ, but Mett has already committed two of them in 5 games!? I won't bother to research this, but I'd be willing to just about bet that LSU leads all college football with that penalty the last 5 years.
